Well, as we all know, the character Mary Sue is still fartknocking around the tournament. She pops up during the Babidi takeover I guess just to stare on at the chaos, but do you think she will have a future part to play in the plot since she's there?
I personally hope she does, since her purpose of lambasting the Mary Sue trope looks kinda funky in the wake of the Bra debacles. That and I'm not a fan of characters just being there to be the butt of a joke when the joke has long since passed and she's.... still there, occasionally being referenced even.
Had a thought that her Mary Sue powers would allow her to neutralize the hyper broken wish-like hax power of that shadowy final boss we were teased with, sacrificing herself to remove the hax to make it feasible to beat him (aka countering bullshit with bullshit.) Might be too overshadowing and grandiose though, depending on how it's done.

Could definitely do some wacky stuff with her, unfortunately it feels like she’s similar to the Bojack universe girls or even a few other universes joke like characters in the way of only being used for one offs or gag moments. But we are finally getting some more info about the other girls so it’s possible that we get some more out of her later as well. I’d just be really surprised though if she was actually used for anything serious to the plot and not just another one off joke like we got with her being in the apartment and not coming out to help during the majin rebellion.

The possibilities exist to do something with the character. It doesn't hurt to have a complete gag character in the ensemble though. I firmly believe that is why Salagir continues to keep her. He reserves a backdoor, for potential scenarios. Still, it remains very tangible in my opinion, Mary Sue will not get a relevant role, except on a meta level, dragging the Sue trope into ridicule. Her introduction, her missed homecoming, her Majin arc cliffhanger. All jokes that can't be taken remotely seriously. It's going to continue that way. I wonder if Salagir has the balls to include a Mary Sue & Son Bra sketch to openly clarify the obvious Sue traits that Bra often embodies. Maybe also general references to the usual DB tropes, like conjuring a transformation out of nowhere (Ultra Instinct cover page Mary Sue), etc. As long as it's meta and without affecting the story in any way, lol. To be honest, that's all I see for Mary Sue anyway.
Something you can't do with normal characters. The U6 Magical Girls are perhaps insignificant, play no (overriding) role in the overall project, seem bland and at the beginning literally served only as fanservice, both for Gogeta Jr as a variety for drawing and the reader to get excited about pretty girls. But I don't think they can be compared to Mary Sue and the other OCs from Universe 2 so easily. One is a blueprint for innuendo/gags while the other is a result of poor planning/writing leading to innuendo/gags.
Trunks, Goten, U6 Girls, U19 Heloites, etc. may be reduced to their core attributes in DBM (immature gobshites, sex object, engineering over power), but in the background there is opportunity for depth & development for characters. What can't be said for the U2 characters.

True enough, Mary Sue is definitely night and day different than the U6 girls in a way, her being a clear joke vs the other girls actually having a place in their universe and not being just gag characters like she seems to be. Just meant the comparison being more so that they both have been brought up on very few occasions and basically sidelined/shelved for later if need be. But you’re right, she’s definitely more similar to some of the U2 characters. Man a side note but I almost completely forgot about the Heloites again until you brought them up ha. Even though they’re OCs they deserve some more love imo and they could really do some cool stuff with their specials. With them being upper tier representatives of one of the big three “powers” in a way of DB imo (that being magic, power, and science).

Hard to say, she was part of a deliberate gag Universe who were not meant to have a lasting role beyond their one shot matches. The fact she is still around is like the Frieza Family hanging around, seems pointless. Most I can see is her trying to charm a villain when we get to the post tournament crisis arc and failing but I cannot say for sure what Salagir has in mind. I will say that the Mary Sue "joke" doesn't feel as funny when Bra arguably is a straight example of the trope alongside her. Just makes it come off as Salagir lacking self awareness in that respect.

Yea, that's why I'm hoping she has a part in whatever the final plot is. Something 'balanced' so to speak, that perhaps plays off and establishes her 'Mary Sue' aspect as something more than an oblivious author punching down, but at the same time doesn't cause her to actually overshadow the main characters. Like those characters you see with a seemingly useless power, but then turns out they are useful against the main boss in helping the main character or team win. Something like that. I think Freeza and co. will prolly have somesort of part to play in the final plot too, at least I'm hoping. And that it's not them just getting their asses kicked unceremoniously.... though that is the least path of resistance. But if that's the case, should've just sent them home.
