There are various opinions regarding who is stronger than whom in the Buu Saga and how exactly the powers rise. Here is my take. (Study it and also look at the FAQs at the end of the post before replying.)
-Every time Majin Buu absorbs someone, that someone's power is added to Buu's. Pretty straightforward. The only exception is Dai Kai, who was clearly stated to have weakened Buu.
-SSJ3 is twice the power of SSJ2 (for unfused characters). No need for a greater multiplier for all the gaps to fit in. Kid Buu is equal to SSJ3 Goku, since they fought evenly. Therefore...
SSJ2 Goku: 100
Majin Vegeta: 100
SSJ3 Goku: 200
Kid Buu: 200
-South Kai was equal to Kid Buu, since they fought evenly in the anime filler scene, and I see no reason not to treat that as canon. Besides, if South Kai was not close to Buu's power, why didn't Buu just kill him like he killed the West/East Kais but rather resorted to absorbing him? When he absorbed him, South Kai's power was added to Buu's. Therefore...
Kid Buu- 200
South Kai- 200
Buff Buu- 400
-When Buu absorbed Dai Kai, due to that Kai's meek nature, which was incompatible with Buu's nature, Buu's power was reduced by an amount equal to Dai Kai's power. Therefore...
Buff Buu- 400
Dai Kai- 50
Fat Buu- 350
-Due to Fat Buu's playful nature, he normally had access only to half of his power. That's the power he fought everyone with (including SSJ3 Goku) at the first half of the saga. That's the power SSJ Gotenks (before training in the Spirit Room) had a chance against. Therefore...
Fat Buu(usable power)- 175
SSJ3 Goku- 200
Gotenks (pre ROSAT)- 120
SSJ Gotenks (pre ROSAT)- 160
-When Fat Buu is extremely enraged (when his puppy and Mr Satan were shot) and is about to split, right before splitting, he momentarily accessed his full power (Super Buu's power). That power was split between Good Buu (Fat Buu after expelling his wrath) and Grey Buu. Good Buu took the good part (the power that stemmed from South Kai's good side minus Dai Kai's power). Grey Buu took the evil part (Kid Buu's power plus the power stemming from South Kai's evil side). Note: When I say South Kai's evil side, I don't mean that South Kai was evil. However, as we saw in Early Dragon Ball (when most of the main characters couldn't ride Kintoun and when Goku was fighting the Devil), most good people have a little evil in them too. Therefore...
Fat Buu (full power)- 350
Good Buu- 130
Evil Buu- 220
-When the two Buus remerged, the new Buu that was created (Super Buu), due to his better body and nature, could access his full power, unlike Fat Buu. Therefore...
Super Buu- 350
-Gotenks' power after training in the Spirit Room...
Gotenks (post ROSAT)- 180
SSJ Gotenks (post ROSAT)- 240
SSJ3 Gotenks- 360
-Gohan's power after his potential was unlocked...
Mystic Gohan- 500
-Buutenks' power was Super Buu's power plus SSJ3 Gotenks' power. Buuhan's power was Super Buu + Gohan. Pretty straightforward. Therefore...
Buutenks- 710
Buuhan- 850
-Vegetto's powers...
Vegetto- 900
SSJ Vegetto- 1.200
-When Kid Buu returned, the Fat Buu he expelled (Mister Buu) was nothing more than the Kais he had absorbed in the ancient past. In other words, his power was South Kai's power minus Dai Kai's power. Therefore...
Kid Buu- 200
SSJ3 Goku- 200
SSJ2 Vegeta- 100
Mister Buu- 150
-FAQ1: If South Kai is stronger than SSJ Gohan, why didn't he pull the Z-Sword?
-I think that, as is the case with Excalibur, that was just destiny. Gohan had been all along the one destined to pull it.
-FAQ2: Why did Goku imply SSJ Gotenks (pre ROSAT) would be stronger than his SSJ3 form?
-Well, Piccolo highly implied that the boys had to train a little to get the most out of the fusion multiplier, which they did only in the ROSAT. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that that perfected fusion multiplier was what Goku had in mind when he made that statement. In other words, SSJ Gotenks (post ROSAT) was the fighter Goku was referring to, the first version of Gotenks to surpass SSJ3 Goku.
-FAQ3: If Kid Buu is so much weaker than SSJ3 Gotenks/Mystic Gohan, why didn't the others just transport those people to the Kai Planet to finish off Kid Buu?
-Such a thing was risky. Kid Buu's regenerative capabilities were insane, and nobody could guarantee that Gohan wouldn't end up absorbed again as it had happened when he fought Super Buu. All in all, the Spirit Bomb was the only safe way to go.
So, what do you think? Agree? Disagree?
