If the Mafuba was created from a human technique, why didn't the Supreme Kais try a more advanced sealing technique? If Shin and Gowasu are anything to go by, they do not seem competent enough to engine a technique like that. Which is admittedly odd, considering Kaito (who is on a lower rank) developed Kaioken and Spirit Bomb by himself.

Yeah Supreme Kai believed Babidi's minions were too much for the three Saiyans but was shocked when Goku, Gohan and Vegeta started easily fighting their way through. Elder Kai even yelled at Supreme Kai for not knowing about the potora earrings he was wearing. Its understandable for Supreme Kai who is still learning and may never learn everything due to the previous Supreme Kai being absorbed but we don't know why Gowasu is the same, maybe the same thing happened to him in his universe?

I wonder if the "North and South, East and West" Kai formation was retconned. U6 also has only one Kai, and one pupil, just like Gowasu and Zamasu. It is worth mentioning Gowasu seems a bit more knowledgeable than Shin. He knew what the Potaras were for, he knew how to temporarily upgrade a pupil and the function of the time rings. Damn, I did not notice how bad Shin is looking right now. As for your last line... Yeah. This is a lot of food for thought. Did u6 and U10 face similar threats that killed Kais in the past, or Akira just got lazy and didn't want to do 5 kais per universe?

It could also be that U7 is/was the only universe to have the Supreme Kai and the four lower Kais working together, or it's the same but at later times so we're seeing what U7 Supreme Kai will be doing with his position when he becomes older in a few thousand years by taking in a pupil. This is some food for thought indeed.

Why wouldn't beings like Shin, Gowasu and Beerus think of techniques like that? Are they just power-centric? Even more questionable, can the Supreme Kais use the same sealing technique Beerus did on elder Kai? They could use that to imprison Buu and Babidi. (I included Beerus cuz he was surprised at the Kaioken technique)

Yes the wikia is not always reliable but here's my source for now. dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Zamasu

Here it is. Both link and image. mangastream.com/r/dragon_ball_super/016/3693/35It doesn't say if the other Kais are alive or dead. Here's another head scratcher. Can lower realm Kais like King Kai undergo training as an apprentice to be a Supreme Kai? I thought they were already appointed their positions. And even then, King Kai still ruled, even though he's dead. Where are the dead Supreme Kai's that were killed in the Buu assault? (I know South was absorbed) but why didn't they return as spirits like King Kai did? Did they vanish or ironically go to hell?

So naturally, the Kaito formation should be 4 + a leader. Evidently, when Zamasu decided to become an apprentice, he was replaced by another North Kai. But I was merely speaking about other Supreme Kaioshins, such as Gowasu. It's only himself alone. Where are the others? The same applies for U6. The only kai is that obese fuck, and the skinny one with a hat appears to be his apprentice.

I read somewhere that there was supposed to be three Supreme Kaioshins and U7 was the odd ball having 5 as an abnormality. Unfortunately can't find proof so don't quote me on that line. Lol. We have U6 version of the Saiyans and of Frieza, who's to say there isn't a U6 or alternate universe version of Buu that did manage to kill at least one supreme kaioshin?

If the Mafuba was created from a human technique, why didn't the Supreme Kais try a more advanced sealing technique? There is a possibility the Kais did try to create their own sealing techniques to stop Buu, but they failed. I don't know if Super gave any more detail, but the original manga very little details were given about the Supreme Kais battles with Buu. I would wager that one of them tried to create a sealing technique to stop Buu to replicate Bibidi's effect, but either Buu outright overpowered it, Bibidi cancelled it out or Bibidi specifically made him so only his spell works on Buu to both give himself leverage over Buu and to prevent someone else from trying to seal him up. Supreme Kai was pretty sure only Babidi knew how to seal Buu. It would make perfect sense for him to have formed that opinion after seeing one of friends try and fail to seal him up with their own technique. It also helps add more weight to his reluctance to just letting the Z-fighters blow up the ship because if Buu got out he had no way of putting him back.

I see the possibility of Bibidi canceling the mafuba. And since my original post, I had a thought: The Mafuba only works on those who are truly evil and conscious about their actions. Kid Buu was destructive but not evil intent (or at least my two cents on the idea) and for sure the Mafuba wouldn't work on Majin Buu cuz by then he's just following orders blindly.

Well the Mafuba itself is probably a bad technique for the Kais to use. It is a one time use technique and there is no guarantee it will work. Roshi used it on King Piccolo and failed to capture him in a jar than died. Piccolo learned how to counter it. It probably wouldn't be terribly hard to Buu to learn how to counter it or for Bibidi to figure out how to stop it (destroying the container before Buu gets put inside it).

Speaking about U6's Kaioshins, I think there arew two, not one master and skinny pupil, because the skinny one would make a great counterpart for fat Champa GoD. Similarly the great fat Kaioshin who was aborbed by Buu to relation of the opposition with skinny Beerus.
