Ashanark prompted me to making a thread for this. It's a little tally I did counting how many panels each of the characters appeared in, adding a point for every panel or cover page I spotted a character in whether they take up the whole panel or only appear partially (I ignored the specials), this is the updated count as of 1222.
(266)-U16 Bra (258)-U4 Buu (221)-Vegeto (220)-Goku (207)-U18 Vegeta (159)-King Cold (158)-Cell (157)-U13 Vegeta (152)-Kakarot (144)-Uub (128)-U18 Piccolo (127)-U18 Gohan (121)-U18 Pan (120)-U16 Gohan (115)-Broly (104)-U11 Buu (98)-U18 Goten (96)-Frieza (95)-U3 Bardock, U18 Trunks (92)-Bojack* (89)-Eleim (88)-U12 Trunks (87)-Krillin (79)-Gast (70)-Raditz, #18, U18 Gotenks (69)-Dabura, Tien (64)-U16 Pan* (63)-South Kaioshin (59)-Nappa, U16 Piccolo (58)-Cooler (57)-Hirudegarn (55)-King Piccolo (52)-Yamcha (50)-Kat (47)-U16 Trunks (46)-Tapion (44)-Nail (42)-#16, Super Cell Jr.* (40)-Raichi (39)-U3 Videl, Dai Kaioshin (37)-U16 Videl (36)-U16 Goten (35)-U10 Vegeta, Recoome (34)-Salza*, Syd* (33)-Sun Wukong (32)-Arale, Nekomajin, Bujin, U18 Videl, West Kaioshin (30)-U18 Bra (29)-Zangya*, East Kaioshin (27)-Babadi (26)-XXI (24)-Burter* (23)-Tidar* (22)-Beezlebub (21)-North Kaioshin, #17 (20)-Xeniloum, Elder Kaioshin (18)-U16 Gotenks, Cell Jr. (17)-Jeice (15)-Cargot (14)-U10 Bardock (10)-Akira Toriyama (9)-Old King Vegeta (8)-Mahissu, Mary Sue (5)-Ginyu, Cui, Salagir (4)-I’K’L, Gogeta Jr. (2)-U9 Bulma

You should also post the page count, since that gives a somewhat different ranking.

The idea I had is that this thread could be updated at the end of every chapter.
My list isn't quite as thorough as Wheelo's, but here's some more info:
Number of Panels (Specials included) 346 Kakarot 345 U4 Buu 317 Vegetto 299 U16 Bra 280 Goku 255 U18 Vegeta 198 Gast 192 Cell 185 U16 Gohan 181 U18 Gohan 161 U13 Vegeta 156 U18 Piccolo 149 King Cold 144 Uub 126 U18 Pan 122 U18 Goten 121 Frieza 121 U12 Trunks 112 U18 Trunks 58 Cooler
Number of pages (no specials) 141 Goku 114 U18 Vegeta 108 Vegetto 103 U16 Bra 93 U4 Buu 91 U18 Piccolo 78 U18 Gohan 78 U13 Vegeta 77 King Cold 72 U16 Gohan 70 Uub 66 Goten 66 Trunks 64 U18 Pan 63 Cell 61 Kakarot 53 Frieza 35 Gast 34 Cooler 32 U12 Trunks
Number of Pages (specials included) 169 Goku 145 Vegetto 144 U18 Vegeta 120 Kakarot 120 U16 Bra 117 U4 Buu 112 U16 Gohan 111 U18 Gohan 108 U18 Piccolo 83 Cell 80 U13 Vegeta 77 Gast 77 Goten 77 King Cold 76 Trunks 70 Uub 68 Frieza 65 U18 Pan 45 U12 Trunks 34 Cooler
Most Pages (no specials): Goku Most Panels (no specials): U16 Bra Most Pages (with specials): Goku Most Panels (with specials): U13 Kakarot
Note: When counting pages/panels that specials provide...if the story can apply to multiple versions of a character (like how the Broly Specials happened in both U16 and U18) then I count those pages toward the totals of each version of the character.
Fused characters do not share totals with their unfused counterparts; so U18 Goten and Trunks' totals are not taking Gotenks into account, and Vegito is not getting boosted by Broly specials.
If anyone wants to do research to help find the page equivalents of Wheelo's list of panels, feel free to contribute! I plan on updating this list again after the end of the next special chapter.

I've done some more research on how long each fight in DBM has been, and how long each recurring character has fought. If they've made it to multiple rounds, I've included their total fight time in a separate list; for characters like Dabura who've only been in one fight, just see the length of that particular fight. I've got the stats both on how many panels a fight lasted, as well as how many pages.
I'm putting the info in spoiler tags so casual readers can skip it. My observations (the stuff you might be interested in) are at the bottom.

Observations: --Longest fight going by pages is Vegito vs. Broly, followed by Vegeta vs. Raichi.
--Longest fight going by panels is Vegeta vs. Raichi, followed by Vegito vs. Broly.
--Bra vs. Cold is the third longest fight going by either pages or panels. About half of both Bra and Cold's time in combat (pages/panels) comes from this fight, and for Bra, this is even including her time fighting Buu in space and during his rampage. Before this fight, Bra had less fighting time than Vegeta and Tapion (ranked 9th by panel) and Cold had less than Krillin (ranked 11th).
--Whether you go by pages or panels, Cold is in second place for most time spent fighting; while most of this is because of the Bra vs. Cold fight, it's also because he's gotten two other decent-length battles.
--Goku, despite appearing in the most pages by far of any DBM character and being in three fights, is only in 20th/18th place when it comes to total fight duration of recurring characters (pages/panels). The only characters with two or more real fights that he passes up are U18 Pan, Tien, and Demon King Piccolo. Hopefully this will change as he faces more powerful opponents in the later rounds.
--Raichi has only had one fight, but that's still enough to put him 8th/7th on the list of how much action he's had (pages/panels), passing up characters like Tapion, U18 Vegeta, or Fat Buu. By the time the third round has ended, it is very likely that he will have passed up just about everyone except for maybe Bra and Buu. (I'll keep you posted.)
--The Bardock/Cold fight is slightly longer than it should be, because it's scattered across three chapters.
--Cell is probably the most consistent fighter in terms of screentime; all of his fights are above-average in length, but his longest (vs. Dabura) is about 50% shorter than the top fight of either the pages or panels list, so it's not like he's getting an undue amount of attention.
--It seems like almost every page of combat Gogeta Jr. drew has 5 panels. Is this some kind of magic number or something? Asura usually fits more panels in a page, however.
How I did the counting: I included the announcement of the fight, as well as the declaration of the winner. However, I didn't start the rest of the counting until both participants had touched the ring, so any plotting, planning, or transformations before combat began are not included. (The one exception I made is the Cell Jr. who punched Gast preemptively.) In-battle banter between combatants count towards length, as well as shots of the devastation; however, I didn't count dialogue or commentary from spectators--so, Vegito talking to Goten during the Yamcha/18 match wouldn't count toward the length of the fight, since it has nothing to do with Yamcha fighting 18.
I did not count matches which never happened due to a forfeit.
There have been two times in the tournament where combat has occurred outside of a match, namely the battle against Buu in space, and Buu's rampage. In that case, I started counting the length of the fight once hostile action began (so, when Vegito first shot Buu, or when Buu punched West Kai) and stopped when it was over (when Bra teleports back, when Gast contains Buu.) The Buu fights are a bit tricky, since giving Vegito and Bra full pages/panels for those would be inaccurate; therefore, I counted their panels/pages of actual participation.
I'm fairly certain that I've made a few mistakes in counting during all this, so feel free to correct any inaccurate totals. Also, most fights will be a page or two longer than they really should be, since the announcement of the match and declaration of the winner are often the last/first panels of a separate page.

Do you count Raichi's ghosts as part of a page/panel with Raichi? On my list Raichi didn't get a very large boost because while he had a large fight, he personally appeared in a lot fewer pages than Vegeta since he was basically playing puppet master.
Turns out there's a time limit for edits on this forum, so I can't keep the OP updated, I'd have to make separate entries.

Long story short: yes, I counted Raichi's ghosts as a page/panel for him. Maybe I shouldn't have, but since the ghosts can't exist without him making them, I thought it reasonable. (I guess it's a bit like how the Vargas counted the ghosts as being part of Raichi and not allies.) It shouldn't offset Raichi that much because I was going off your numbers when I made the panels + specials list, and Raichi had a decently large presence in the U3 specials. I also agree with you that ghosts should count as panels for their original (Tidar, Bojack, etc.).The purpose of these latest lists was not so much to see how many pages/panels each person got per fight, but how long the fight itself was. There are times when a page or two is devoted to seeing an explosion happen, and that's still part of the fight, even though no one appears in it. So my thinking is that Raichi still gets a decently long fight, even if he's not actually seen fighting. I guess I could subdivide each entry even further by measuring what percentage of each matchup a contestant is seen in (like, Raichi appearing in 25% of his fight's panels or something), but that might get a little crazy. The tricky ones are the unofficial Buu fights, because those involve multiple people, some coming in late and some dropping out early. I'm still pondering out how best to measure those so that characters don't get over- or under-represented.I was planning on making a new post at the end of each chapter, summarizing how many pages/panels each person in that chapter got, so it could just be easily added to the main lists. At the end of this current U16 special, for example, we could post how much Bra, Vegito, Gohan, and Pan's counts have increased.EDIT: Shady Doorags (below)Going by tournament-only panels, yep, it's Bra, though U4 Buu is only a few panels behind and jumps ahead once you include specials. A good chunk of Bra's screentime has come from the mammoth fight with Cold, though. Going by pages, Bra is 4th, well behind Goku and a bit less behind Vegito, so your predictions were actually pretty accurate.

I didn't expect to see Bra at the top of the list. I figured she'd be in the top 5, but at number 1? Wow.
If you had asked me before the last chapter finished, I would've predicted 1) Buu 2)Vegetto 3) Goku 4) Bra by the end of the book. But now I'm thinking Salagir wants the focus on Bra so I can see the list staying the way it is. Vegetto might disappear for some odd reason during the expect tournament shift which would make his count percentage drop, but he'll most likely make up for it in the climax and finale.

The statistics for this last chapter, counting only the people who show up in the tournament (so no Bulma, Tien, etc.).
For this chapter: Character: pages/panels U16 Bra: 21/62 U16 Gohan: 17/40 U16 Vegito: 9/14 U16 Pan: 6/9 U16 Gotenks: 7/19 U16 Trunks: 2/2 U16 Videl: 2/2
New Total number of panels (including specials):
U16 Bra: 361 U16 Gohan: 225 U16 Vegito: 331 U16 Pan: 71 U16 Gotenks: 37 U16 Trunks: 49 U16 Videl: 39
New Total number of pages (including specials):
U16 Bra: 141 U16 Gohan: 129 U16 Vegito: 154
What this means: 1. Going by panels, Bra has jumped from 4th to 1st, passing up Vegito, U4 Buu, and Kakarot. Yes, this means that Bra currently appears in more panels than anyone else in DBM. 2. Going by pages, Bra is still #4. An entire special devoted to her has not caused her to pass up Vegeta, Vegito, and especially Goku. (Vegito, who is number 2, is still about 15 pages behind Goku.) 3. Vegito still hasn't passed up U4 Buu or Kakarot in panels. 4. U16 Gohan jumps from 9th to 6th in terms of panels (passing Gast and Cell), and from 7th to 5th going by pages (passing up U4 Buu and Kakarot.)
I'll update again when we reach the end of the next chapter. I bet Gast will jump exponentially.

Do we have an updated panel count list for all characters in the comic yet?
Raichi and Gast will shoot up with this coming fight. But are you counting the ghosts of fighters to include their panel times? Like U13 Vegeta if he reappears during the fight as a ghost warrior, do u tally that with his character normally, or make it seperate?

But are you counting the ghosts of fighters to include their panel times? Like U13 Vegeta if he reappears during the fight as a ghost warrior, do u tally that with his character normally, or make it seperate? Dr. Wheelo counted the ghosts for the original character, and I agree with that. He and I would have to coordinate about how to edit the original post to include all the information (pages, panels, counting specials, etc.) The nice thing about this special is that it only affects the U16 people; the numbers for all other characters are current as of the end of "Balancing the Fighters."

At the end I put a separate tally for how much the ghosts contributed towards the overall panel count of the character. If you want to know how the character ranks without the ghosts just subtract that number from their overall score.
There are two other things I feel worth pointing out
-Goten, Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo have two identical counterparts with U16 and U18. For the most part you can tell which universe they are from the dialogue, or seeing who is in the booth with or next to them. In the event that there was no way to tell which one it was, I just gave a tally to both Universe versions, since they are identical and would have both been doing the same thing. The only exception was Gotenks vs Gotenks where we got mirror image panels of them, each panel is obviously meant to be a different Gotenks so they would get +1 for the two panels.
-Hirudegarn was a hard one for me to tally down, since he kept disappearing into fog, and I wasn't sure whether to count the fog as a Hirudegarn panel or not since his actual corporeal body isn't exposed. Ultimately I decided against tallying the panels that were just fog, only counting the ones that show some of his physical form like a fist or tail coming out of the fog, so he comes out a few ranks lower than what he could have been.

Breakdown -- Bra is still barely #1 in panels, though Vegito is only 3 behind, jumping from 4th to 2nd. -- Goku is still barely #1 in pages, though Vegito is only 3 behind. Bra goes from 4th place to 3rd. -- Ginyu's reveal and immediate defeat is still a disappointment EDIT: The revelation that Cold is Ginyu means their numbers get added together. "Cold" gets 5 more panels and two more pages.

Jesus this is what people dedicate their time too on the interwebz?! :0 Yep. Screentime is one of the few objective measuring sticks we can use for characters. Saying "I think Bra is a Mary Sue because she's in more panels than any other character, showing Salagir is favoring her" has a bit more weight than just "Bra sucks, her character is bad writing, gnarg gnarg gnarg." Conversely, saying "I don't think Bra's a Mary Sue because Vegito, on top of being better than her in every way, appears in noticeably more pages and basically as many panels" has a bit more weight than just "shut up, Bra is great." These stats were a bit more relevant back when Bra debates dominated all DBM discussion for the 8 straight months of her screentime, but even though that's calmed down a bit, I find this sort of thing interesting to know. Not to mention that cataloging things can be very relaxing at the end of a long day.
