We had one about only Goku but let's compare the two saiyans. Who's the better father? Goku or Vegeta?

This question is kind of hard since both individuals each treat their kids in different ends of the positive spectrum. Both love their kids, but at the very least Vegeta is always there while Goku is doing...well Goku stuff. Granted Goku wasn't there during the seven year time skip in fear that more enemies would hunt him and his family down, so that shall be exempt. But all of his disappearances afterwards there is no excuse (training Uub in GT is a prime example).
But regardless of Goku's absences, he is truly a loving father who would put his own life down to protect his kin with there only being a few instances that he has yelled / hit his kids (punching Gohan when he wanted to confront Imperfect Cell for nearly killing Piccolo, telling Gohan to take Piccolo away after becoming a SSJ, telling Gohan to kill Perfect Cell quickly, and telling Goten to "man up" after telling him that Gohan might be dead). Other than that, he has provided everything for them, even sacrificing his life against Cell to ensure Gohan's future. Not many people would go that far for their own kin, much lest saiyans.
Now while it is true that Vegeta is always there, his natural being makes him difficult to connect with others, which even includes his children. Now while it is true both his kids and Vegeta himself love each other, but he does not show any "affections" to them unless something dramatic goes on. Up until the Buu saga's conclusion, Vegeta has only held his son twice, which is kind of sad honestly. Plus once he gave in to Babidi to receive the majin powerup, he nearly killed Bulma, the mother of his son, in a vain attempt to prove his vileness in front of Goku. Granted Vegeta is no longer like this, but it still proves that at one point Vegeta was quite fucked up.
Thus Goku gets my vote.

Compared to Android Saga Vegeta, Goku wins by default because he actually cared if his kids got killed or not. Let's look at Buu saga/EoZ Vegeta, ignoring Battle of Gods and DBSuper.
It's still a difficult question. Think back on your best friend growing up. Now that you're older, do you think your friend's mom/dad was better than your mom/dad? Well, unless someone's just flat-out a bad parent--abusive or lazy or something--we'll normally acknowledge that some parents have strengths in some areas and some parents have strengths in different areas, so it's hard to say if someone is "better" overall.
I vote for Goku because he's been more consistently good than Vegeta. He's also more affectionate, friendly, and kind. But Vegeta has some good strengths:
1) Vegeta trained with Kid Trunks of his own free will, showing that he's willing to do things with his family 2) Vegeta seems a lot more perceptive of his children's wants and needs than the fanbase would think. He knew enough about Trunks to realize that what really motivates his son--what Trunks wants to do, more than anything--is go to the park with him. He's not tempting Trunks to fight harder with offers of toys or games; he knows Trunks wants personal time, and he's willing to give it. 3) When Vegeta was about to die, he realized that what Trunks wanted from him more than anything was affection, and willingly gave him a hug. 4) Vegeta was willing to die to protect everyone he loved--by extension, his son. 5) Vegeta, by EoZ, has blended in far better as a human than Goku has, wearing normal clothes. He also apparently doesn't care that Trunks has stopped training. 6) In GT, Vegeta spends time with Bra doing something she wants to do, and takes her opinion very highly (the mustache thing.)
On the whole I'd much rather have Goku be my dad, but by EoZ Vegeta isn't bad.
Now, if we make this a competition between DBM Goku and Vegeta I say the two are dead equal. Goku and Vegeta have literally become co-Big Goods with each other, apparently about even in strength and just as good at giving advice to the other Z-Fighters.

I'll go against the majority here and say Vegeta is the better father/husband, more so when factoring in character development in DBS.
Goku seems to be fairly uninvolved with his sons. Part of this is due to extreme circumstances. Chi-Chi kept Gohan on a fairly tight leash for the most part (with Goten now following in DBS), with the poor kid not even seeing anyone aside from his immediate family until Goku took him out to Kame House, whereupon he got kidnapped by his evil uncle. From there, Goku dies, Gohan goes to Namek, Frieza is defeated, and Goku later refuses to come home...for reasons. Then he comes home, and the next three years are spent in intense training. So some bonding time with Gohan, but it's all training focused. Then he and Gohan train some more for Cell, relax a few days, then Goku dies and refuses to come back...again. Despite having a direct lifeline to his friends and family via the deceased King Kai, he not once bothers to contact them until the Budokai comes up so he can have fun in a tournament setting once more, and as a result didn't even KNOW about Goten until meeting him.
In the end though, he accepts that his sons are going a different path from him (though he does force Goten to fight in the tournament...why I don't know, but whatever), and then flies off with Uub.
Vegeta's not TOO different though. Like Goku he's obsessed with training above all others. His personality is certainly far more abrasive than 20 Gokus, and he's got an ego to match. He tried to push his love for his family aside for one final chance to defeat Goku when he became Majin Vegeta...but in the end overcame the rage and accepted it. That said, he does make some time for his family. He offers to take Trunks to an amusement park as a reward for punching him, which he actually does later on. He personally hated every single minute of it, but he did it for his family to make them happy. He goes berserk when Future Trunks dies, though to no avail, and shows pride in Future Trunks later on again in DBS, in that Saiyan way of his. Vegeta later stops training entirely to give support for Bulma when Bra's about to be born, something Goku just couldn't even comprehend.
Although like Goku at the EoZ, he also forces Trunks to fight in the tournament. Trunks at least has an allowance for Vegeta to threaten, (unlikely for Goten) though that's likely due to his mother's side of the family.
So yeah, while similar, I give my vote to Vegeta.

Vegeta is a real father. He loves his wife, Trunks and Bra. (Heck he gave up a tourny and stayed with Bulma for the girls birth) He was willing to take Trunks to fun events and spend time as a father.
Goku is a good friend... Not a father. Goku doesn't and can't have a concept for family. They are just really good friends that feed him. Goku had no consideration about how Gohan felt during the Cell fights. I am not saying there was another way to win but Goku should have supported his son more... but to Goku, Gohan is the same as Krillin.

When DB ended originally I would say Goku just edges out Vegeta. He is more consistently good with his children overall and always encouraging.
If we're counting all things DB now than its obviously Vegeta. No question, Toriayam has been vocal on Goku being selfish and not understanding the concept of a family. It shows in new material.
