I figured DBM halting the main story for around a month (or more in the event of a double special) would actually fit the themes of this thread quite nicely, as even though the main story is paused DBM is still putting out content one way or another. Even if that content is substantially less popular. However... Ashanark, @invaderjim, Conqueror Geng, عمارAs a compromise between the original intention and what everyone else wants I will adapt since this is the first time a special has butted into the story. At the start of each new special chapter I will post the first page of that special in DBM's slot (so the cover basically) as well as a spoiler flash forward to where DBZ and DBS would be in however many pages the special takes up. The following release day will skip the remainder of the special and jump right back to the next main DBM chapter--unless there's a double special in which case the second special's cover will be posted instead, and then the NEXT release day after that will be the the main DBM chapter. I figure this will be the best compromise as it acknowledges the necessary time skip required on DBM's end, as well as the work of the authors/artists who put time in to make the specials in the first place so Asura can catch up with the main. See the above edited post for an example of what this structure would look like.

Oh would you look at that, we're back to the main story! Goku and the rest fought the androids or something. DBM has started Chapter 61! I don't think I'd noticed that SS1 Kakarot and whats-his-face fighting him on the cover have basically the same hairstyle, Kakarot's just being slightly bigger. HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT! Half Saiyan, perhaps? Probably not but hey... Attachments:

Poor Tien. This is just insulting. I'm asking again: what was the point from bringing him to the tournament?

Poor Tien. This is just insulting. I'm asking again: what was the point from bringing him to the tournament? To make it seem like Team U7 is in trouble. You can't very well eliminate Goku and expect U7 to actually win after all. That's what fodder like Tien is for nowadays. Though having Goku eliminated and forced to watch from the sidelines while Vegeta and Co. fight to survive would IMO have much higher tension.

That's what fodder like Tien is for nowadays. it doesn't seem U7 is in trouble if you make Tien & Krillin a deadweight to the team. It make it seems U7 is better without them. Like Freeza literally sacrifice these two so he can eliminate Frost.

Frieza tends to sacrifice a lot of U7's warriors for the purpose of eliminating a single foe in the anime (i'm looking at you GOHAN). I find it comforting that Toyotarō does some of the unimportant side characters a chance to shine (once again, i'm looking at you GOHAN). You'd never see this kind of sh*t in the anime.

I have to disagree, since the anime actually gave every single U7 character something to do and every single U7 character eliminated one opponent at the very least, and most of U7 also saved at least one of their own at some point. Tien and Krillin just get knocked out in the manga, and Gohan gets a Death Beam Cage Match with Dyspo instead of mostly having a fight off-panel before getting eliminated.

Okay, maybe I was a bit too harsh on DBS’s writing.(I have a lot of criticisms on the writers take of Dragon Ball, so maybe I should cut them some slack.) In all honesty, Super surpassed my expectations for it, so it’s earned my respect.

Frost Demons. Frost Demons on every page! In every series! Majin Frieza’s 5th form is design is the best.King Cold/Ginyu’s Design seemed a bit too spiked for my liking. Not much going on in DBZ. As for Master Roshi... I salute you.

I remember how there were people in the comment section in DBM thinking Panel 4 & 5 were showing the same Frostdemon during the transition sequence of the transformation. How could someone confuse Freeza and Cold in here.
Sad thing in DBS how everyone is ignoring Tien.

That DBZ panel is such a DBM-style cliffhanger. I'm loving it. I could see people getting mad at Toriyama for that if DBZ was released a page at a time. I wonder if Toriyama timed it so you'd have to turn the page to see who Frieza attacked when you read this in Shonen Jump. When DBM changes scenes, it often happens right as the last panel of a page. Goten noticing the Jrs. comes as the final panel of a page where the Kais were fighting Dabura, or Phipsil's "Pull yourself together, Naurb!" right at the tail-end of Cell threatening Videl. Lol, unintentional pun Same deal with this page. Salagir/Asura could end the page with Frieza attacking Piccolo or something and have the next page start with Kakarot powering up, but they smush Kakarot in here. (Connecting his new form with Frieza's statement, of course.) Elder Kai looks like his face is melting in that middle DBS panel. It's fun to compare how the three different artists draw the same characters. Compare the head-jewels of the various Frost Demons, for example. As someone who's never understood why those are shaded the way they are, it's interesting for me how Toriyama, Toyotaro, and Asura all do them a bit differently. 5th-form Frieza's armor looks oddly undetailed this page compared to DBZ Frieza, or even Cold in the panels right next to him. I wonder why. To show how pristine and white he is? Also, auras: who does it better? 2nd form Frieza, or the various Majins in DBM? Kakarot's is probably my favorite of the those we see today. I always thought Cooler's was cooler myself. Same. Cold's seems overdesigned and Frieza's should look a little sleeker IMO. (The little shoulder-spikes are a no-no.) That's one thing you can give to Toriyama: his designs were never overly complicated, with Cell probably his most extreme. Beerus and Whis probably have the most complex clothes of any of his characters and yet they don't seem busy. Frieza's four forms are all distinct from each other but even the most elaborate, the 3rd form, is fairly simple. Cold's 5th and 6th form can be hard to read at times because there is SO MUCH going on.

Also, auras: who does it better? 2nd form Frieza, or the various Majins in DBM? Not on this page, but DBZ's had a really nice subtle aura a few pages ago. Nothing too in-your-face like a full powerup or charging at the enemy aura, just a subtle radiance as Frieza finishes transforming and gets back up, almost like flames flickering out. I don't think it's something seen all that often in DB.
