I think I should've made this thread before Uub's fight end. I feel bad for not including him...  Anyway, I don't know if a thread like this was made before, but I think it's time to bring it up again since we're in the middle of the quarter finals. Now, I know some of you may think: "Who said the tournament will continue until the end?" Yeah okay, fair point, but let's assume it will. I believe the Kaioshins got everything under control. (Lol! XD) So, my two questions for you guys are: - Who do you think will win this tournament? And why? - Who do you want to win this tournament? And why? You could also write who do you think will advance to semi-finals & the finals, if you would like.  |

Just to keep it short, but back in 2016 I predicted it would be Goku and I am willing to stick to it. I could be very wrong about it, but only time will tell.

I feel Gast is the best "logically" primed to win. He has the power to in theory compete with XXI/Zen Buu, I see the Bra vs. Gast match being used as damage control for the Majin Rebellion Arc so I don't see Bra making it and neither Goku nor Vegeta should touch Gast unless their new surprise really is a game breaker. Plus Gast has a noble wish and is a heroic character.
I don't like the idea of a creator's pet winning it all, but this is just how I see things unfolding.

My predictions. No spoilers just educated guesses.
My guess is XXI will win the entire tournament. Based on that Bardock vision where Yamcha is saying something like "you beat all the rest but you couldnt touch me, am I the strongest in all the universes??" Since we are pretty sure XXI can't magic cyborgs.
Going forward. Vegeta will beat Cell. Probably by taking advantage of Cells confidence and putting him down when he least suspects it with a strong attack. Maybe SSj3 for a few seconds??
Zen Buu will get sealed away by XXI. Taking him off the board. (I dont see Veggito being a real threat if Zen Buu is around).
Gast vs Bra. Will be therapy fight where he brings her around to being confident again. And once he does that playtime will be over and he will finish the fight quickly with magic. Probably that energy drain move.
Semi finals will be Goku vs Vegeta. Goku will give a good showing but Vegeta will win after showing off his new power. But do his usual thing of getting owned by the main villain in the finals. Probably using some magic bs.
The other match I think will be Gast vs XXI. I think Gast will be the only one in the tournament able to go more then 2 spells with XXI. But I think he will ultimately get defused. Giving him his wish but taking him off the board for Veggitos rampage.
I think finding out what XXI is wishing for is what will lead to the post tournament trouble as the heroes will try to ban together to stop him from actually making the wish. But Veggito will probably fight the heroes because he wants the wish to happen so he can fight a strong appointment.(ultimately snapping because the entire tournament was won by a cheating magician. Who took out anyone he could have small side matches with)
That's just my prediction anyway!

The final round seems like it's going to be Goku vs XXI. I'm not sure what Goku or any non-magic user could do against XXI if Zen Buu and Gast are going to lose to him unless he discovers a weakness. I agree with Maximusthered2431 that XXI probably wins to obtain his wish which leads to the remaining heroes banding together to stop him. There's a vision with Gohan holding a Dragonball so it's possible XXI loses the tournament but he attempts to steal them??

That's a hard one, I think either Cell on the left side and Gast, Zen Buu or XXI on the right side are the most likely finalist candidates, but as who to win, I have no idea (though if Zen Buu got by XXI and Gast, that's a shoe in for him). Some think XXI will win and that is possible, but that would be lame tbh. Uub was another likely candidate if he could use magic better but Goku already pushed him out. I guess Zen Buu would be most likely but that seems "too obvious" given his godlike display.
I am surprised nobody voted Zen Buu, the guy who is almost as powerful as Vegetto and Broly, has OPed regeneration, very high intellect and very powerful magic all at his disposal, like that would be the most likely, but even he isn't unbeatable as Gast has shown.
Somebody voted Vegeta though, which is a strange one since he'd be lucky to even make it past Cell right now and he would also have to somehow beat Goku as well but would Salagir let Vegeta beat Goku or would he let Goku beat Vegeta? I am not even sure who I want to win that fight, either way, Cell has a better chance at the finals than either and Goku and Vegeta's chances against Cell is not good.

If the tournament ever gets continued, I say Gast has it in the bag with XXI being his only challenging opponent left. He doesn't really have a weakness that can instantly finish him off and he likely has a plan to deal with XXI's dimensional spell. Plus Gast has physical strength, does XXI? Blasting a tiny Buu head is something any SSJ2 level fighter could have done if Buu was suppressing his energy. One thing is for sure, the winner of the tournament has to be one of the two now that Zen Buu is out. Goku, Vegeta and Bra can't deal with XXI unless Goku and Vegeta have been hiding some seriously amazing abilities/techniques but it's likely they both will be going all out against each other. I suppose Bra could use the power of P.L.O.T. (I don't know what my acronym means but it sounded cool) to help her. And Goku, Vegeta and Bra can't deal with Gast if Gast can use magic to destabilize Super Saiyan forms (unless it works only on unstable forms like SSJ3, it'd be funny if Bra unlocked SSJ3 and lost for that reason).

I mean, we saw what Gast did to Vegetto so it's hard not to write her off against Gast and even if she beat Gast she can't really beat XXI. Maybe if she unlocks the true power of P.L.O.T. otherwise I am not sure what chance she has left. Against powerful magic users, Bra has about as much of a chance as Goku and Vegeta, if not even less for the fact she is less experienced and that's despite Bra being far above Goku and Vegeta on physical strength. |

In terms of abilities, Gast is overall higher than XXI and Goku (Gast can do both magic and fighting exceptionally well) but I can see XXI having the right spells up his sleeve. With magic it isn't really about being "better" so much as it is having just the right moves, XXI is really a master at his trade even if he isn't nearly as broken as Buu nor as powerful as Gast even (given that Gast has much more impressive feats of magic than XXI, Gast straight up shut down Zen Buu AND Vegetto, XXI only temporarily stopped both at one point in time).
So despite that I believe XXI will win and the final round will be Goku (Martial Arts Master) vs XXI (Mystic Arts Master). But I think Goku will ultimately win because there isn't really a good magic spell for handling getting punched in the face really fast a whole bunch of times and whatever moves Goku pulls on him (I mean aside from healing, but that's a fine way to drag out your defeat instead of winning).. That doesn't mean Goku won't have a very difficult time against XXI of course.
I imagine if Goku wins, then Vegetto freaks out upon seeing Goku succeed where he failed.

The realist in me thinks XXI will probably beat Gast as easy as the others. But there's a shred of hope. That part where Buu mentioned how he had a difficult time finding spells to work on Gast for his trap.
Makes me wonder if they are setting up Gast having some natural magical immunity as well. Leading to a better fight.
I also wonder if we might see Elder Kai do something in secret to help Goku avoid the spirit time dimention.(Without Goku knowing) Maybe its Vegetto who realizes Goku had outside help and that leads to the rampage. Just random ideas.
I think there's a good chance tho XXI sails through. And everyone realizes they can't let XXI get his wish when they learn what he wants.

XXI is gonna have a hard time against Gast and I doubt XXI's friend will help XXI against Goku if XXI already asks his friend how to beat Gast (two hour cooldown time allegedly). Which means XXI is gonna need a plan of his own on how to beat Goku (a martial arts master who can move really fast and it's near impossible to sense his energy, plus it's likely that Goku is stronger than XXI strength-wise but not certain).
I still wager that XXI has difficulties but gets past Gast but then loses to Goku (or maybe even loses to Goku by not showing his best moves so nobody suspects XXI's motives). Vegetto goes on rampage as he gets angry that Goku did something he couldn't and XXI sneaks around during the chaos in pursuit of the Dragon Balls.
I could be wrong and maybe XXI does win, but I feel the story would be more turbulent if Goku pulls an upset and beats XXI (something that even super-powerful fusion-based beings like Vegetto, Gast and Buu failed to do and that is what sets Vegetto over the edge which gives XXI another chance to get the Dragon Balls). It is also possible for the Old Kai to manipulate the tournament during Goku's fight against XXI or Gast's fight against XXI so that XXI can lose as well which could mean XXI loses but not legitimately.

The winner depends on if the tournament itself is the "only" arc we get or if there indeed is a multiverse war/post tournament plot and arcs involved. If that case I say it is XXI's tournament to lose as having the "main" villain win and get the wish increases tension for the coming battles.
