Just saw this clip, laughed. Poor Frieza trying to comprehend Goku's new form.

Just been watching fan-videos, and I cannot say. This pretty top-notch editing. The English dub of Dragon Ball is stellar and it makes rewatching some of even the worst parts that bit more tolerable.
Gonna say, james marsters as Zamasu has grown on me!

I feel like they prolong dialogue way too much in the RoF saga. I mean Goku spends almost half the episode just talking to Frieza.

Frankly seeing Goku get his ass kicked was refreshing. Maybe it's because he's such an annoying idiot, but Frieza almost seems heroic beating the crap out of him.
Loved the ending as well, "I'm in this show too you know."

Regardless to how we feel about Super's content can we just agree the best part about the series is the fantastic English dub. Seriously, i've always enjoyed Funimation's dubs but Jesus Christ. Sean Schemmel deserves a fucking medal for those screams. Been looking forward to this since the dub was announced. Cannot WAIT for dub ultra instinct at this point.
Also, Props to Matthew Mercer for Hit too. Much better than Xenoverse 2.

The german one is a real insult to every human being with 2 efficient ears. Imagine this, there are Germans defending the the german dub of DBS. What a pity you all don't understand it. The german dub is a greater Meme-show than the animation of episode 5. Maybe, a lot of my dislike towards DBS is because I don't f**king understand a single word they said and I'm completely dependent to the subtitles.

So with the universe 6 concluded with the dub, I finally got round to watching the entire thing. I enjoy began watching the sub with the Black arc as the dub was still on the retellings and I wanted new content. I only watched Universe 6 in parts and bits on youtube prior.
As a fun little experiment I’d got one of my friends who was into DBZ but never bothered with the BOGS/ROF movies or DBS to watch some of the latest TOP episodes to see what he thought of them. He basically responded with the sentiments of “There’s some cool stuff but a lot of padding to get to them that I think could have been removed.”
Then I showed him my favourite fight from the series which funnily-enough just got recently dubbed. The Goku vs Hit fight stands out to me as being the one true fight in the franchise that not only feels like Z but nearly surpasses a lot of the fights in them. Sure, its dilaudid colouring and lack of grit make it slightly less visually impressive but I feel that the quality of the fight is pure quality.
It’s a nice juxtapose between pure power vs sheer technique that I enjoyed quite well. It wasn’t the standard over-the-top slamfest or high-octane action. I felt this was a battle between two gifted martial artists with plenty of twists and turns to keep me interested. I think my criticisms of Jiren stand tall. People told me Hit only becomes an interesting character post-tournament, but I feel he really develops as a character alongside his fighting power increasing. He even starts fighting with Goku and shows plenty of instances of emotion beyond stoic. It keeps the viewer engaged but also gives us a cool character. Massively underrated fight. I showed my friend the fight between them and he said it was thoroughly entertaining and he enjoyed it more than the TOP. Just thought it was neat to see an outsider’s opinion that matches most of our own.

Sean Schemmel is enough reason alone to watch the dub over the sub. The likes of MasakoX, James Corlett, Peter Kelamis, and Masako Nozawa are good, but Sean is able to do both a goofy and serious Goku justice. And those screams are godly. It adds so much to Goku that it is impossible to overestimate it. And I agree with Beerus the Wondercat about the Goku and Hit fight feeling the most DBZ-like. The exchange of high speed combat, techniques, and dialogue gives Super some credibility of being a actual DBZ sequel. Honestly this and Goku vs Beerus can only live up to this mantle. Everything else is sub-par, though some fights in the Black saga have some elements of being good fights (Vegito and Fused Zamasu death by Trunks). Wish the ToP was like this, especially when Hit was fighting against Jiren. Also the English voice for Hit is perfect. Funimation never disappoints with expectations, though Champa's voice is annoying.

The English dub has just gotten up to the "Copy Vegeta" filler arc before the Black Saga. Even though I enjoy DBZ/DBS filler content a lot more than other anime, I thought the copy vegeta arc was really lame and just Baby 2.0. However, Funimation has done something really interesting with this filler segment. Copy Vegeta is voiced by Brian Drummond. For those who don't know, Brian Drummond was the first english voice for Vegeta in the ocean dub back on cartoon network in the 1990s before Funimation hired their own in-voice actors in Texas like Chris Sabat etc... The dude was famous for the whole "IT'S OVER 9000!" and "Vegeta's wrath" memes that were popular back in the day: It actually makes me want to check out the filler arc now! Knowing the history behind the dubbing of DBZ, it's a great wink-nod to the old-school fans. The good type of fan-service. I just found it really ironic and an awesome throwback to have the original voice of Vegeta come back to play the "Fake Vegeta" alongside Sabat. I gotta say guys, the dub is salvaging the series for me. Maybe i'm bias towards my own language or Funimation changing dialog due to Adult-swin's loose limitations but it's made the lackluster episodes a lot more bearable. I'm just wondering if they'll keep James Marsters for Zamasu considering he voices him for Xenoverse and Fighterz. It's really cool and smart how they're handling the dub: Grey Ayres, who's the brother of Chris Ayres (voice of Frieza) does Frost from U6. Matthew Mercer, voice for Jotaro in JJBA does a time-stopping fighter. Brian Drummond, original Vegeta voicing Copy Vegeta. James Marsters, Piccolo in DBE, voicing Zamasu. It makes me hyped to see how they'll handle the TOP. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Funimation got Mark Hamill to do the Clown god

So it's officially beginning then? The most controversial arc in the series. I enjoyed the arc for actually having a original villain and bringing back tension. It's just got such shit pacing and the ending really makes the arc pointless. Hopefully the dub will improve the experience like I had with Universe 6. I'm interested to see how Sean's gonna handle Black after seeing his stuff in Xenoverse 2 and Fighterz.

@thatguy Better than the super gruff raspy version he had before. Somehow it feels like Frieza Saga SSJ Goku talking in the Kai version, except more sadistic. (Well... Duh ) Honestly I'm willing to ignore the massive plotholes of this saga if the Dub proves its worth and/or is able to fix some of the issues (Trunks' Spirit bomb, cough cough). The latter I'm stretching, but one can hope.

An evil Goku laugh? Definitely impressive in the Dub. Plus from all of Sean's "evil roles" this laugh tops them all. Gave the perfect feel of sinister rather than just simply "evil."

Voices Overview:
I must admit Goku Black's voice in the anime is really good. It reminds me of SSJ4 Goku's tone but tainted with sadism. And the Rose voice is the same in base, which was a wise move on funimations part. The "british accent" from FighterZ and deep raspy tone in Xenoverse 2 have thankfully been removed. In all honesty I find Sean's Black superior than Masako's, at least in the anime. True that I am little bias since I grew up on Sean, but he did a good job so far with Black. I only expect more great things down the road.
However Zamasu's voice i find inferior compared to the Japanese dubbed. The English voice actor sounds too evil and lacks the calm fluidity his Jap counterpart has. When Fused Zamasu shows up, it would be much better if solely Sean voices him or it is dualed like Vegito's. Because this guy just isn't cutting it.
As for Zeno I like it. I too like the Japanese version, but the English version sounds "smart". You can tell some sophistication is inside that head of his.
And Grand Priest is alright, but I think the Japanese is slightly superior ATM. Again it is the tone.

Sean just keeps hitting those home-runs. Couldn't ask for a better dubbed Goku. Really enjoying rewatching this now it's finally in English. Maybe i'm a tad bias, but I think the Dub has salvaged this series for me. Obviously there are GIGANTIC issues and problems we've discussed to death. But damn, if those performances aren't stellar.
