Since there hasn't been many threads coming up in the DBM section, I think it is time we had a thread dedicating to how strong is Prince Vegeta from Universe 13.
Before we analyze his strength in the actual comic, let's analyze his previous levels before joining in the multiverse tournament.
Now since Universe 13 is relatively identical to Universe 18 (everything is basically the same besides Kakarot's attitude and adventures on Earth), then by definition Vegeta should be of equal strength when his canon version arrived on Earth.
And to get a gauge of his current level, Vegeta from canon in early Age 762 was quite powerful since he had a shocking power level of 18,000 (thus rivaled by Cui and only surpassed by Dodoria, Zarbon, the Ginyu Force, and Frieza and his family). Thus if he ever goes in his Great Ape form (which multiplies a user's strength by ten fold), his power level could rise to a astonishing 180,000. This alone makes him stronger than the entire Ginyu Force, though his tail weakness and need of a full moon / power ball technique is quite glaring [though if he has gotten the blutz eye lamps in his eyes like Raditz and Kakarot, he would be a step closer to being even more efficient].
Here is a list of canon Vegeta's accomplishments in canon that most likely Prince Vegeta could accomplish in his timeline:
1. Easily kill a saibamen with a relative power level of 1,200 using his Dirty fireworks technique.
2. Killing Nappa easily via Galaxy Breaker who has a power level of 4,000.
3. Overpowering Goku who even uses the kaioken X2 (thus having a power level of 16,000).
With all of these things added up, Vegeta is one tough motherf%%%er since theoretically he is in the top 10 strongest individuals in the North Galaxy at the time. Such strength is not easy to scuff at!
Now when Vegeta first appeared on planet Helior , it is hinted that he is stronger than Kakarot and Raditz though it is possible that Kakarot may have became his equal upon being healed via zenkai, though this is still speculation.
While his adventures are still unknown on namek (looking forward to those specials ouv), some bits of his time there were revealed during the tournament. Now during this time, Vegeta was revealed to have successfully managed to become a super saiyan and even killed Frieza, thus solidifying him near the top of the apex hierarchy of strength. This in itself is a achievement!
Now while it is unknown if Vegeta got to use the dragon balls and how he and his group killed Cooler and King Cold to rule over the entire North Galaxy, but somehow they have managed to do that since those two frost demons would have confronted them. Even more incredulous, Vegeta even achieves the Super Saiyan 2 transformation under unknown conditions. How he has managed will be interesting to behold.
But at the very least, it is unknown if Vegeta confronted Broly (most likely he hasn't due to his shock during the DBM tournament) though he has never fought Bojack in his timeline.
And thus, this is all of the current information available regarding about Vegeta's past to be evaluated. How strong he truly was at some parts shall be a mystery until they are revealed.
Now during the DBM tournament, Vegeta was so confident that he has considered himself the "future winner of the tournament" and looks down on some members of the other universes.
Despite his superiority complex, he is no fool when the situation demands it. This adds to his experience as a seasoned veteran
Now Vegeta's first display of "power" was shown when he physically stopped Kakarot from further harming Kat. Whether this entails he is stronger than Kakarot in the same state or not is up to speculation.
Nonetheless he was greatly shocked (or even horrified) upon seeing Broly becoming a Legendary Super Saiyan.
But despite his shock, Vegeta does something impressive! As a Super Saiyan, Vegeta was one of the few to not be ripped off from the ground, something which a Cell Jr from Universe 17 fails to do. This right here could imply that Vegeta is at the very least equivalent or even stronger than SSJ Goku from the Cell Games in the same state(most likely stronger though IMO).
Nonetheless Vegeta is severely inferior to the likes of Broly and Vegito, which is no surprise due to these two combatants enormous potentials.
Now upon being in his very first match, Vegeta was forced to fight against Syd from Universe 6. Despite not being the strongest , she felt confident despite Vegeta finding her worthless. But even after using her gender eyes to make Vegeta a woman (thus losing some strength while apparently going through some psychological trauma), he easily prevails against her before recovering his gender and lost strength. He immediately kills her afterwards.
Thus his first round fight was ultimately a failure to even get a gauge of his base form's true power (or even his reduced female form). Nonetheless he easily prevails into the next round.
During the night for the conclusion of the first round, Vegeta was the only one to not foolishly challenge Ultimate Gohan (with the hybrid even stating he is stronger than everybody present). While they did not unfortunately fight (SSJ2 Vegeta vs Gohan would have been sick), but Vegeta drops it for something in turn; the secrets of the Ultimate / Mystic power up. We will come back to the power up later, but what I want you to get out of this is that most likely Vegeta is inferior to the likes of Gohan despite not fighting him.
Now during the second round Vegeta relatively remains in the shadows for the most part though a few incidents occurred before his match. During the novel Vegeta along with Both Gohan's (universe 16 and 18) along with U18 Vegeta stopped a raging Kakarot from attacking Pan. While still speculation, most likely Prince Vegeta could have stopped Kakarot by himself if he had too (like becoming a SSJ2).
Text: Behind her, the Saiyan seemed to be in denial, his body completely motionless.
“Incredible...She actually calmed down Kakarotto!” Vegeta of universe 13 said.
But before Pan had even left the ring, Kakarotto finally recovered from his shock enough to move. He had allowed this child to become a Super Saiyan, to turn her back on him, and to insult him further by forfeiting. It was simply too much!
Enraged, he rushed at Pan. Sensing his attack, the girl managed to turn around just in time...but she knew she had not the strength or speed to ward off such an attack. Kakarotto’s face was still that of a psychopath. His fist flew towards her face, filled with his judgement, the punishment for her actions. And just like that, the girl’s guardian angels sprung into action.
Instantly appearing between her and Kakarotto were both Gohans, of universe 16 and 18. They had moved so quickly that it seemed as if they’d teleported. Both stood side by side, arms extended, palms open, as they formed a barrier between the madman and their daughter. Kakarotto’s fist struck with a crash one of the palms that had suddenly appeared in his path. And yet the Gohan he had touched did not budge even a micrometer.
And they weren’t the only ones. Vegeta of Universe 18 had instantly transformed into a Super Saiyan 2. Like the two Gohans, he had merely appeared in Kakarotto’s path, rather than actively engaging him. Only, Vegeta didn’t uncross his arms, not even a fist or palm. Rather, he pointed both his index and middle finger towards the upset Saiyan. In this form, facing off against a mere Super Saiyan, Vegeta was practically invincible. With a swift show of super speed, Vegeta sliced the two fingers like a knife, directly at Kakarotto’s head. If it hadn’t been for both Gohan’s blocking the mad Saiyan’s path, he would have undoubtedly been beheaded by Vegeta...
Goku, himself, hadn’t reacted. Of course, he’d known that his son would step in to protect his daughter, and that he would only get in the way. It surprised him that Vegeta had decided otherwise. Perhaps, though, the prince merely wanted to make a statement to Pan, that her fight had not been in vain. It was yet another reminder of how very different Vegeta was now than he had been a few decades ago.
Gohan’s move onto the scene had been incredibly fast, but that was to be expected. As tense as the fight had been so far, the fact that he’d sprung into action at a moment’s notice was far from surprising. Of course, this was all because of the special powers granted to him by the Elder Kaioshin, which made accessing the full extent of his power something that took only an instant. At least, it was much faster than Vegeta, who still had to undergo a transformation. Still, Vegeta’s immediate ascension to the second level and instant appearance up near Kakarotto was quite impressive. Goku even found himself getting excited as he watched on. He and the prince would meet in the tournament for sure, and oh what a memorable match it would be! Certainly neither Cell, Majin Buu, or Uub could prevent them from meeting...
Finally, another person intervened, and this one not a guardian angel of Pan, but rather Kakarotto. Vegeta of universe 13 appeared behind the shoulders of his companion. Kakarotto was effectively blocked off on all sides, and Pan was saved. They stared at one another silently for a few seconds, all the time a Varga approaching cautiously, most likely to declare a fault of some kind.
Vegeta of universe 18 finally broke the silence.
“Next round, it’ll be you and me, clown. And I’ll handle this little situation.”
“Agreed,” his counterpart from universe 13 said.
During the lunch break of the second round, Vegeta unfortunately fails to achieve the Mystic / Ultimate power up just like Son Gohan. Now while it is unknown how powerful Vegeta would have become, but it would be no surprise if Vegeta did won against Raichi since he would have power greater than his Super Saiyan 3 transformation. Hell he might have become a true rival for Ultimate Gohan himself, or even stronger. Too bad we will never know!
Now during Zen buu's rampage, Vegeta begins to show off his real power during this event. As Zen Buu was trying to immobilize everyone, Vegeta was one of the few to not get trapped by skillfully becoming a Super Saiyan 2 for the first time on-screen. Now while this does not mean he is a match for Zen Buu (far from it actually), but this does display the amazing potential that makes up Vegeta's character.
When Vegeta was finally called for his official match against Raichi, Vegeta displays his full strength as a Super Saiyan 2. Here he brutally yet efficiently kills the entire Cold Family, all the saiyans (minus U3 Vegeta), SSJ Broly, Salza, Syd, Burter, Zangya, and Bojack like they were nothing!
But unfortunately for him, Pan sacrifices herself so that Tidar could get a solid hit on him with his god's blade, thus severely wounding him while making his power drop a bit.
Despite this handicap, Vegeta still kills Tidar in a badass way, though he still has to face his greatest opponent; Cell Jr!
Because of his injuries, he loses against Cell Jr quite pitifully since according to Piccolo: "Their powers are close enough... Even if Vegeta wasn't injured, He would not be guaranteed to win". And with his injures, his loss against Cell Jr is practically guaranteed with no hope of him winning... as a SSJ2!
Upon discovering the secret to becoming a Super Saiyan 3, he quickly turns the tides that has him killing Cell Jr relatively easily.
[spoiler[/spoiler]
Upon dispatching the little bastard, Vegeta makes a beeline straight to Raichi, which he easily shatters his energy shield like it was nothing. But before he could kill him, the unthinkable happens!
Due to a combination of his injuries, his arrogance (not killing Raichi when he had the chance), and his inexperience with SSJ3 (you lose energy instead of being revitalized), he instantly became weak and vulnerable in the most inconvenient moment. Because of this, Raichi was able to summon Universe 3 Vegeta as a Super Saiyan to kill Prince Vegeta once and for all.
Thus the "future winner of the tournament" dies and is disqualified. He is later brought back by the dragon balls off-screen by the end of the second round.
Despite being gone from the tournament, Vegeta has two noticeable appearances that shocks / angers him to the core so far.
The first was during Kakarot's battle against Vegeta from Universe 18. To Prince Vegeta's shock, Kakarot successfully becomes a Golden Great Ape, thus being the third known saiyan to achieve it (right after Brasca and Queen Hanasia). Whether the shock came from kakarot's sudden transformation or from his high power reading, most likely if was from the former since both Nappa and Raditz had high faith in both Vegeta's powers, though it is still unproven if Prince Vegeta is truly stronger than Kakarot.
During the beginning stages of the fight between Gast and Raichi, Prince Vegeta was extremely angered when he saw a ghost version of himself battling against Raichi. Now wheter or not Prince Vegeta can perform the same feats as SSJ3 remains a mystery.
And thus this concludes Vegeta's biography and feats shown in the DBM...for now!
So now for the ultimate question: How powerful is Prince Vegeta?
While we unfortunately do not have the scope of his true power in base form, we at least know that he most likely surpasses the first Cell Jr as a Super Saiyan. Since we have never seen his full power as a super saiyan either, we can only infer how strong he truly is. Personally I see him somewhere around or even a little bit higher when U18 Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan during the Buu saga. At the absolute most, it was during his time when he was a majin. Again, ultimately speculation by this point. But at the very least, we all know that this Vegeta is weaker to his universe 18 counterpart in the same state.
As a super saiyan 2, we have a much clearer range to where his power lies at. Since he is considered to be equals to the second Cell Jr at full power according to Piccolo, we at least have a range where his strength is at. Take a close look at this specific page:
Thus at the very least Prince Vegeta is way stronger compared to Super Perfect Cell during the Cell Games. While it is extremely likely he is even stronger than that (to the point he may be able to challenge Fat Buu to a certain degree though he would lose), he would still get stomped by the likes of Gast Carcolh at this level. If Gast could kill Cell Jr effortlessly, most likely SSJ2 Vegeta would get stomped just as quick.
But upon becoming a Super Saiyan 3, Vegeta's power level increases by ten fold from his SSJ2 state: Here is the text to prove the multipliers (chapter 45):
Text: Vegetto, now a Super Saiyan 3, had increased his power tenfold. Damn, he was even stronger than Broly, who was flying towards the stadium at breakneck speed. Yet the Saiyan continued his efforts, still screaming, and further increased his already enormously phenomenal strength.
With amplified strength such as that, it is no wonder why he killed Cell Jr so easily. And if Vegeta can do the same feats as his ghost counterpart, most likely he can challenge even the likes of Gast Carcolh on equal footing if fully healthy. Hell, I'll say that Vegeta is identical or damn near close to SSJ3 Goku during the Buu saga. With strength like this, Vegeta can most definitely kill Fat Buu like he was nothing, thus slowly moving Vegeta up in the ladder of the hard-hitters. But since Vegeta is still inexperienced with that transformation, he still has much room for improvement to better himself immensely. Given enough time, he might even reach Super Buu's level, but unfortunately he most likely will not reach there during the actual tournament.
And just like the mystic power up, Vegeta will most likely will not become a majin by Babidi during the tournament. Here is my source for that:
Because of all of these factors, Vegeta will most likely not gain any more power in this tournament, thus damning him to SSJ3 Goku from the Buu saga at his maximum. While it is still possible he will have many more fights in the future (babidi breakout, XXI crisis, battle with Ultimate Gohan, potential Ultimate raditz, rematch against Raichi [thus fighting LSSJ Broly, ghost counterpart, or even Hirudegarn], Kakarot, etc), his strength will most likely remain the same or make small gains at best.
Let me hear your thoughts on my analysis and opinion on Vegeta's strength. And remember folks, play nice. XD
Also here is a funny pic of Vegeta getting told just for giggles and laughs:
