I just made a video about this topic and thought it would be fitting to place this question here. But why wasn't Kuriza added to Multiverse and would he contribute/be a good character to be placed in the series?

Not super familiar with Kuriza, but I don't think he'd add anything to the story that we don't already get from Cold/Coola/Freeza.

Thats true Kuriza wouldn't progress the story per say but would show a little more of parental guidance with the frost demons, the first reaction to Frieza having a child and more comedy. We could have a "YOUR MY FATHER!!" with Kuriza and Frieza like they did with Kakarot and Vegeta from u13.
Kuriza could also be an actual gag character taken a bit more serious than the rest. We could have power scaling for him and imo I think he would be lesser than a ssj but would still take Goku after 100g training to beat him (with his power level at 90,000 without using kaioken.) Because he still a frost demon and being the son of Frieza should have great potential.
I think the perfect fight would be him against u18 Pan. Of course Pan would win but I think she's the closest to his power. Plus be a cute call back to Goku vs Frieza moment. We also would see interaction with King Cold and Cooler, see whether Frieza accepts his son or not and even see if Kuriza befriends the saiyans of u18. Just a bunch of stuff his character can be used for and if not for the story, it would be great fan service and comedic moments with serious villians.

I personally never liked Kuriza at all. It is a humanizing touch to have a cute son with emotional problems when you're supposed to be an evil careless tyrant.
This is one of the things cited for Freeza being the best DB franchise villain. Kuriza effectively screws this up, as the Cashgrab of Bardock did with the father of Goku.
I prefer what DBM does. Still being psychopathic dictators but also made the butt of jokes thanks to Gyniu.

I can think of a few reasons...
1) He looks stupid
2) Though DBM has a lot of great humor, it's not a gag manga. Kuriza is from a gag manga. Unless Kuriza was from U2 and his main purpose was to have a single joke and fight (like how Beezlbub was partly there just to give Dabura a funny line), he would cause a jarring change in tone every time he was onscreen.
3) He would actively detract from Frieza's character specifically, and from U8 in general. How did he get born? Why did Frieza decide to have a kid (and who'd he decide to have it with?) In an organization of evil people where failure is punished with death, why has Kuriza survived this long? What even is his job? Why hasn't Cooler killed him just to tick off Frieza? Is there a way to somehow have Kuriza live long enough to make it to the multiverse tournament without his entire universe acting out-of-character?
4) He looks stupid
I put Kuriza in the same boat as Tarble and Gine: just because Toeiyama COULD make them, doesn't mean they SHOULD'VE, or that they needed to. The characters are not exciting on their own, and add nothing to the characters they modify (Frieza, Vegeta, Bardock) if they're not actively making those stories worse. Kuriza's only slightly better than the other two in that he appeared in a self-parody and was never ever intended to be taken as a serious addition to the Dragon Ball series.

Wife* but let's not derail this thread, because I have a lot to say about it, and you won't like it. Either way, since Kuriza is non-canon? I don't like him as well, and I'm not generally a fan of the idea that Freeza has a son. But I do like Bardock, he was a nice addition to the series.

I can see why no one talked about this before I made the thread lol. I never knew there was a dislike for this character, I assumed it was neutral since no one spoke up of him.
I personally like him but not for the main canon of dbz but keep him a gag character, thats why I said keep him in universe 2 and not make him the official son of u8 Frieza. It just seemed like a good interaction that was never seen, nothing pushing the plot but also not hurting the pace of the story. If the King Piccolo fight with that demon kid (i forgot his name) was replaced with kuriza it would have been the same pace and short.
Also not to derail the thread but I HATE Gine. She's was made for absolutely nothing, retconning Bardock's badass version of his story and Goku's origins. Made it look as if Bardock was a "good" saiyan when he wasn't, their armor look stupid and her being a nicer saiyan is dumb.
I hate Jaco too. Tarble is meh. Tights I don't have a problem with, it's just weird she was NEVER seen or heard about in the main series until super. I would prefer her like Tarble being a movie character only and having one appearance.

I found strange that Salagir didn't place him on Universe 2 with the other gag characters, he could've put him to fight Frieza in the first fight instead of Jeece.

I don't mind Freeza having a son. I am unfamiliar with the character, it am aware he is a gag character. Perhaps Salagiri just doesn't like him. He left him out like he did with elements of GT. If you are asking why he didn't add the character and just overhaul it like he did movie or OVA characters to make him fit into the setting maybe he didn't think Freeza needed a son. If he had kid it would clench Freeza being Cold's heir since Cooler is sterile.

Bra on the other hand is more openly disliked. On the other hand, you are the first user ever on this forum to ever mention Kuriza. Fuck, even Pilaf and Mai have more mentions than him in the forum. I have never used the search function but I'm sure that if you did, you could confirm this. Also, many "bad-ass" characters like Gogeta, Janemba, Dr Gero (why the fuck isn't he here?), Master Roshi (his only appearance in Kakarotto's special was lamentable) Turles, Metal Cooler, Dr Slug aren't here either. Some things just can't be done coherently, even on a multiversal setting.

I liked Kuriza as a gag character. In Neko Majin, he was basically just a younger, more immature version of Freeza but more mischievous than evil. If he intended to be canon, Toriyama would've probably made him as evil and ruthless as Freeza and King Cold and a cold-themed name like the other Frost Demons.
I think Kuriza could work as a canon character but he would probably serve the same purpose as Tarble, Gine, and Tights where he's just a random relative of a canon character who doesn't contribute anything. King Piccolo was pure evil but he still cared for his children so I could see the Frost Demons somewhat caring for each other. King Cold went out of his way to save Freeza but that could be more about self-preservation because he was worried the one who went after Freeza would come after him. Overall, I don't think there's anything Kuriza could offer that hasn't been done by the other Frost Demons. He might even exist in canon but maybe he decided to retire and lie low after Freeza and King Cold were killed because he was afraid he would be next.

I don't know enough about Kuriza to really answer this, but I would like to think that Salagir wants this series to seem as "canon" as possible to follow-up the EoZ. Sure, all the movies are non-canon; however it's just the way the overall story is structured (i.e: Timeline placement) along with the concept of the "universes" that makes it all fit in a way that's believable.

Personally I really don't care about Kuriza although if we had a chance to see him interact with his father or even grow up, my opinion will change immensely about him. Something like this we need to see in canon:

Revenge of Kuriza I think would've been a better concept than Resurrection of F.
Have Kuriza train his whole life (something Frieza only did for four months) to take vengeance upon the obviously bloodthirsty, barbaric Super Saiyan that took his father away from him.
Could go one of two ways too. Either have him be the typical DB movie villain who gets shot into the sun at the end or something, or add him to the team as an enemy-turned-ally, (much like Tien, Piccolo, and Vegeta before him) after realizing that hey, maybe Goku's not such a bad guy after all.

Extra thoughts: Frieza doesn't really strike me as if he'd be a loving or supporting kind of parent. Even if they were casually destroying planets, or he simply was mentoring Kuriza in ruling the empire, Frieza would likely criticize him at every turn - nagging him on and on about the things he'd do because he thinks his way is the only correct one. He's too self-important to be nurturing to anyone else; even his relationships with his immediate family are rocky, at best.
Cell would probably be the best (though ambiguously complex) one given all the parenting tactics he has embedded inside him (though it may it lean more towards the bad rather than good).
