I see Gast as been at current base Vegetto level in the least or maybe in between base Vegetto and SSJ Vegetto at max but still he would be a danger to someone like Vegetto due to his magic skills, psychic abilities and other strange techniques.

I believe Gast is around Bra level power/a step below Vegetto. I believe his mystic enlightenment makes up for him being a step under as far as pure power. So maybe his reaction speed maybe able to keep up with Vegetto due to enhance ESP. His healing should make him have an advantage with things like grappling because as long as he busts a joint he gains more then he looses because he can heal himself.
I'm very Intrigued by him.

I just thought of something...isn't it pure supposition on our part to think that Gast wants to use his tournament wish to restore the Namek race? It's never been explicitly stated by him, has it?
That would explain why he simply didn't ask the Nameks who came with the Vargas to help him. I doubt the cross-dimensional Nameks would be utterly unsympathetic to Gast's plight, and force him to participate in the tournament if he simply wanted to make more Nameks.
Maybe his little buddy Thorn died and he wants to bring him back. Maybe he's secretly evil and wants to rule the multiverse. Maybe he just wants to de-fuse himself into separate entities once more, which seems more complicated. Or maybe he wants the ability to reproduce and make a benevolent overlord race of Super-Nameks.
I mean, c'mon, if Dr. Gero on fricking Earth can figure out how to splice and clone Namek DNA, you'd think someone else in the Universe could do so as well. But apparently that's not good enough for Gast! So what is it?!

Welp, now I'm embarrassed. But that literally is the only time he's ever stated it, right?
Still seems like a dick move by the organizer Nameks...
Has anyone made a wish list for the remaining people in the tournament?

Yeah I got his motivation. But I was thinking of page 267, where Gast mentions his wish but doesn't say what it is.
Does he want to reproduce himself, or wish to de-fuse? I'm trying to imagine what his wish would be, and that's why I thought it might be something different entirely. It would be a Salagir style twist.

It's clear now that his wish is to revive his people but I wonder if it's even possible would it come at the expense of reverting back to nail. The namekians aren't really so much dead as spiritually fused. I can't see them coming back and gast still retaining their spirits/power.

Could be either one really. Maybe he'll just wish for more Namekians while he guards over them all as his race repopulates, as he surely must understand the need for a strong guardian after facing off against the likes of King Cold.
Some Namekians from other universes might even decide to help him out and go to his.

That doesn't mean he wants to "bring back" his race the way we imagine, maybe he will wish to be fertile and be capable of creating dragon balls so he can spawn a race of Super Namekians and restore his own set back on Namek U7.

I was thinking of wishing for the ability to reproduce again so he can repopulate Namek like the last Grand Elder did when they were almost wiped out. That way he can keep his power and protect his people, while they grow.

So i posted these in the Today's Thread as more or less a joke, but I do see people commenting on Gast's strength in relation to his punch to SSJ3 Vegeta. So I'm do slight analysis. Gast was mildly surprised by this Cell Jr. and had not powered up yet, and was knocked flat on his ass. Gast gets kicked and punched around a bit by Daimo Piccollo who is using the whistle attack to weaken Gast. Finally Gast is slammed in the face by full powered SSJ3 Vegeta fist out of surprise. Now out of all these the one that seems Gast is the most caught off guard and has recieved the most pain would be SSJ3 Vegeta. In the case of the Cell Jr, while Gast was knocked on his ass, he does have glimpse of confusion just before the hit, indicating he was surprised. However, he pretty much brushes it off once getting back on his feet, seeming more annoyed than anything. With Daimo Picollo, Gast seems that he definitely is in pain in the panel where he's being punched, but most of that seems to be due to whistling causing him massive pain from his super hearing. Unless we are to assume that Daimo Picollo kicking and punching Gast is of equal strength to Cell Jr and Vegeta. Go and look when Vegeta SSJ3 hits Gats, look at the panel where Gast has just recieved the hit. His expression is both surprise, pain, and some slight shock and fear. That seems to indicate, that he was not expecting a power of Vegeta's size to have caused such damage to him. What makes a lot of these still make Gast's power ambiguous is the fact the fighters on several different tiers are still managing to at the very least knock Gast around. If Gast was at SSJ tier, Cell Jr should have knocked his head off. If Gast was at SSJ2 tier, Vegeta should have knocked his head off. However, if Gast is SSJ3 tier, then Daimo Picollo really should not have been able to knock Gast around as much as he did, unless we are really to assume that Gast was just fucking around in taking the hits, which is quite possible. Its also very possible that Gast will just man handle the SSJ3 Vegeta the same as he did the other two above. Gast's power is still hard to pin down, mostly cause his best feat has been when he contained Zen buu, but that technique was also ambiguous. Was it pure ki force? Was it some form of magic? And this isn't even getting into his reactions to character's powers showing off. We know Gast at minimum would have to be at least SSJ2 tier due to trading blows with Cell Jr and winning. But will have to see how he handles this SSJ3 Vegeta to truly determine where he's at. If he one shot kills this Vegeta in the next panel, we'll know hes higher than that tier, which places him closer to Vegeto. If he has to fight and struggle a bit with SSJ3 Vegeta, than he's probably not that high. Also keep in mind that although U13 Vegeta was a fresh SSJ3 that didn't know how to control it, this is a ghost warrior Vegeta who according to Raichi, his ghosts can control all their powers better than the originals. SO this SSJ3 Vegeta should be stronger than the one who fought Raichi.

Definitely going with Gast playing around with him. He was deliberately allowing the whistling to continue because he wanted the fight to be slightly challenging. The instant someone questions why he doesn't just pull his ears off like Piccolo did he grabs him by the mouth, says he wants a challenge, then gives him a KO by flicking him in the face with a finger, ending the match.

You can still harm people several steps above you. Much of why normally we don't see that is stronger opponents usually counter, or steel themselves for incoming blows. But for instance look at Cell taking the Final Flash, it shows a much weaker opponent can potentially jack you up if you let them hit you when, how and where they want to hit you. If Vegetto got depressed and layed face down on the ground and didn't defend himself a SSJ3 Goku could blow him up with a good solid Kamehameha.

We won't know for sure until Gast uses his max power and someone makes a comparison to him. The character's power has been such a mystery that when he goes all out it will be made a big deal and someone will make mention of how strong he is.

Pretty sure he's still stronger than Vegeta SSJ3 though! He is still holding back, but it should be more than obvious now he's only "holding back" not to some arbitrary low percentage, but just not "full power".
If he truly was Vegetto SSJ2 or Hyper Buu-level, he would be using only like 1-5% of this power, when it's clear this is not the case. It is also obvious it's not just him "searching for a quest or handicapping himself" as he already tried to directly take Raichi instead of punching whatever Ghosts he had to offer one by one (like Vegeta did).

But by how much?
If it is true that he is stronger than ssj3 Vegeta (while this page indicates they are actually about even), then why is he not using that power to overpower him now rather than later? Once Vegeta is joined in by the likes of Hirudegarn, LSSJ Broly, or worse Hatchiyack, he is royally fucked. Unless supreme magic is used, I cannot see him making it out of there unless he makes a grand beeline straight to Raichi.

Gast is being pushed on the ropes, which means hes in SSJ3 range, most likely slightly above. Maybe mystic Gohan level. Unless he just shuts vegeta down, Ala "I was just giving myself a challenge."
Also folks keep in mind this is not a week SSJ 3 fighter, this ghost vegeta is maxed out power wise thanks to raichi's ghost recline their potential more than others. So this should be a SSJ 3 vegeta with some buffs, putting him on SSJ3 gotenks tier, more than just say goku in buu arc. An SSJ3 fighter this strong would easily give mystic Gohan a hard time.
