Potara Fusion Time Limit Possible Explanation?

So we know how Dragon Ball Super "robbed" us of our favorite "Forever Fused Warrior" Vegito thanks to the "retcon" of Potara earrings, right? However, I think I have an idea explaining why the Retcon isn't as bad as we thought, at least in regards to Vegito's existence in DBZ.
During Old Kai's era, his Potaras were created with the purpose of permanent fusion, regardless of the users involved (this includes Mortals only fusing permanently). Hence we see Old Kai (Original) and the Old Witch fusing, making us believe the explanation was thanks to having at least one Supreme Kai involved in the fusion, right? Yes, just not yet in terms of Dragon Ball History, here's what I'm thinking.
After some time Beerus sealed Old Kai in the Z sword, the successor Kais created the next set of Potara earrings, or the "new" set because they heard of the tragedy that the "Lost Kai" was fused with an old witch and became forever ugly... and perverted. In the case that Mortals came onto the Sacred World of the Kais, these new sets were created so that no fusion involving mortals only would last for a full hour. My idea is that during this time until Shin became Supreme Kai, nobody thought of creating a fusion of a Supreme Kai and a Mortal because they stopped visiting the mortal realm (and did a good job preventing them from entering the Sacred World). That or the proper explanation was lost to time and Shin never took Potara Fusion Mechanics 101. His fusion with Kibito was permanent and justified because of the assumption "A fusion with a Supreme Kai is permanent, even if one of them was a mortal." (As far as I know, Kibito is a mortal Shinjin that is a caretaker, but not a Supreme Kai in any manner of watching the Universe like Shin was supposed to do.)
DBZ
Now Shin meets Goku and Old Kai is unsealed from the sword.
Old Kai was unaware of this change to the Potara earrings and assumed by default that the Fusion was Permanent. His statement was backed up (incorrectly) because he witnessed Shin and Kibito fusing, the "One Kai, PermaFuse!" rule applied. So Old Kai gave his Earrings to Goku and Vegeta to fuse against Super Buu, thinking this was their last chance as Goku and Vegeta before becoming Vegito forever.
Now here's the Catch. Those earrings were the original ones made before the changed rule of the 1 hr limit for mortals only fusion, so his earrings applied the rules "Permanent Fusion," regardless of Mortals only or not.
Buu absorbs Vegito, and as explained with DBM logic in U16 the Kais undid the magic bc it wasn't a natural fusion, or Bad air, whichever one you prefer, and this defused Vegito.
Fastforward to the Goku Black saga, Shin gives his earrings (ones made for the 1 hr mortal only time limit) to Goku and Vegeta during Zamasu's fight. When Goku asked Gowasu why they defused, notice that he only mentioned fighting Majin Buu, a reference point for the audience but I don't think Gowasu knows who Majin Buu is, and Gowasu didn't know the PermaFused warrior Vegito was absorbed into Buu, he assumed the fight was a standard one with no magical interference except for the earrings creating their fused warrior. Hence, Gowasu operated under the assumption "Potaras last 1 hr for Mortal-only Fusion, but lasts permanently for a Supreme Kai" since he was around the time the "new" earrings were implemented.
Also, he didn't know it was Old Kai's earrings that were used in Z, he assumed that Shin gave his "new" earrings to Goku and Vegeta because Shin was next to him during their visit to the Future.
tl;dr
Goku and Vegeta defused in DBS because they had the new earrings that contained the time limit for mortal only fusion (boy that's getting old) but the old earrings Old Kai gave in DBZ didn't have that time restriction and they only defused because of Super Buu's body.
What do you guys think of this explanation for the Potara Fusion?
