Yes. Killing Zamasu was to show that Zen-Oh wasn't all talk and actually was a Destroyer of Universes. Zamasu himself was already too far gone since he was advocating genocide on an entire species just because two neanderthal dinosaurs were fighting over food. A future version of himself time traveling back and telling him that the time has come to make Zero Mortals happen was like Christmas come early for him. What’s funny was when Future Zamasu camel down from the heavens in that bright light and talking about ending it. I honestly thought he was talking about ending Black and that he had been tracking him down to finish him off.........then five seconds later he’s side by side with Black staring menacingly at the heroes. God they could have made Future Zamasu the good one that never went evil and he was the last Supreme Kai in Future Trunks Timeline. Yet again another interesting twist that sadly didn't happen. Between this and waking up Buu to go get him we could've potentially had something going here. Alas.

Now, after DBS T.o.P. arc ended, I have just one word to say. Is God Ki a wasted concept? - Yes

God KI never really meant anything. Sure, there was lots of empty talk about it, even from credible sources (like Whis). But in real terms it was meaningless.
Then we had Freeza, Toppo (anime), Hit, A17, Dyspo, Mystic Gohan (arguably), Jiren, Bergamo, Aniraza, Kefla (fusion but still) reaching levels clearly above the self titled "ssj GOD" without any implied divinity at all.
To make God KI even more worthless, even Shin and the other Kaioshins have God KI too, given they can sense Hakaishin's energy.
I think they would have just called SSJGOD and SSJGODSSJ as SSJ4 and SSJ5 respectively. I don't think GOD KI is a wasted concept. I think it's a concept that should have never been introduced in the first place.

But it was a good opportunity to change direction of powerscaling from vertical to horizontal. If the God-Ki made someone different but not exactly stronger it would have been a keen concept. A concept DBS could lay foundation. I guees, it is all Toriyama's fault for not being able to create real tension without increasing people's numbers.

Well if you see it this way... then this wasn't the first opportunity. The Androids could have done it horizontally as well (with the infinite energy). Buu too (due to extreme regen), if he wasn't that overwhelmingly powerful. You could argue the same with Botamo and Hit.

God ki was more useful in xenoverse as it made the likes of goku and beerus immune to mind control, something even gohan and vegeta couldn't overcome, despite vegeta overcoming majin mind control.
God ki was a wasted concept in super and should have been something akin to being god hierarchies, like gods, demi gods and mortals.
Demi gods can fight gods like beerus on equal footing, but have no discernible advantage over mortals, or perhaps a slight edge over the mortal ki users.

BOG was the only movie in the game, fnf was in xenoverse 2.

Mmm. The thing about god-Ki, Is that as far as Im aware, It was probably always a thing, just unmentioned/unexplored. to the point that any god probably has it. Potentially even the Planatary Gods and normal Kaio. I mean, Think about it. Back in the early Buu Arc, Before we even knew about Buu, Piccolo explicitly said he couldn't sense how powerful Shin was, And figured out from what he did sense that Shin was some kind of High god.. Which implies to me that if nothing else, This is a potental trait in the Grand Kai. But if we think back.. When has anyone known how powerful any of the gods were? I mean, back in the past, In early DBZ you could argue that sensing was less precise and more primitive, but I seem to recall no point that anyone could sense any god properly.
Besides, Mortals and Mortal Ki has always been shown to be able surpass gods, Even in Early Dragon ball Z, when Goku Makes Kami look like a chump. Just because there is a huge hype around a type of Ki that has probably been around for at -least- the Kaioshin, Potentally sooner, hardly Makes me think its too wasted of an opportunity.
I mean.. Look at Demonic Ki. You know, what Evil King piccolo had. (while proper demons like Dabura seem so far to lack it?) Back when his evil ki prevented people from passing on to the afterlife properly, and he could spawn strange demonic children. (which were as far as I can tell, not namekian in any way, but a Form of proper demon, Like he was at the time.) And yet it was his son, who had normal Ki (as noted by Kami.) Who was stronger. This is hardly a new phenomina to DBZ.
(plus, The heavy Taoist influences on Dragon ball should be kept in mind. After all, The highest god of taoism, who got his butt kicked by Wukong if I recall, Was just some guy who decided to Meditate for a ridiculous amount of time. so Mortals becoming/surpassing gods isnt that odd if you look at the influences.)
