With the release and increased detail in the latest novelisation chapters i would really like to know what adventures Cell went on to achieve his current level of strength, and all the new and useful techniques he's changed/mastered and the reasons why.

Psst....hey edit: to be fair, Cell seems to suffer from "middle child" syndrome in which he is effectively ignored coz he wasn't the first or last (or strongest for that matter). Same goes for Gohan. Who the fuck thinks of adult Gohan? No one. It's all about his peak against Cell. Wait, that makes no sense...... That Gohan example is the exact opposite. Well, I'll leave it in so people can laugh at my retardation.But on a more serious note, how many artists wanna spend their free time drawing Cell and his INFERNAL markings only to be shit on by some random arse ingrates in the main comment section? Then a last panel about him exterminating many more planets. On a power scacle, the fact he's gone from a basic SS2 tier to a top SS3 tier is enormous growth, all without learning a new transformation. More specials on Cell would be greatly welcomed by me at least. |

Indeed, however he'd go from 7 years training to 9? Big deal. For someone of his strength and physical attributes the ROSAT would do bugger all for him.
Then you gotta take into account his lack of growth from this to the the start of DBM, which is how many years later? I have 13 in my head.

But was Fat Buu really stronger than Majin Vegeta? His regen was extremely helpful. I always put them at roughly the same, strength wise, well until Buu goes all Gohan that is, either way I am happy to see him as SSJ2.5 or SSJ3 lite if you will, coz it does make sense.
Having Cell leave Earth, gone or not, to train so he can come back to face Buu seems awfully out of character to me. Imperfect Cell? Sure, but Perfect? I dunno, it's gonna take some mighty fine art and Frenchisms to convince me otherwise coz his Vegeta/Saiyan cells would be SCREAMING for him to fight to the death since Earth was HIS trophy to destroy. I dunno, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I like the idea of a moar pragmatic Cell tbh.

Back then if Cell was sliced to pieces and regenerated he'd most likely get a zenkai from that, plus that gap between Bojack coming and Babidi appearing would have allowed him to do a Zen Buu and travel the stars training and looking for other opponents. We know he's met and defeated the Helioites, who knows what else he got up to? Even if we was weaker then Majin Buu when he first get released he'd be able to get a considerable boost trying to beat him. He then has 20 years to train and improve. That'd put him into that SS3 tier. |

That's what I was saying though. Majin Vegeta couldn't defeat him without a suicide attack using all his power but Fat Buu was weaker than SSJ3 Goku so Fat Buu would have to be between them. At best, he could only be a SSJ2.5 tier but less than SSJ3. Even if he never encountered Buu, I don't think the gap between them is that big that Cell couldn't reach SSJ3 tier by DBM since it takes place 27 years after the Cell Games. In the tournament, he knew Vegetto was too powerful for him so he's more willing to admit when he's outclassed. He was relatively young in the Cell saga and only following his programming which is what lead him to assuming he would be perfect after absorbing the two cyborgs. After his attempted suicide against Gohan and getting a Zenkai, he might've realized that he wasn't as perfect as he thought and that there was room for his power to grow. I could see Cell losing to Fat Buu initially and realizing he wouldn't stand a chance at his current power without more training. Either way, the Earth wouldn't last for very long. Either Buu destroys it a few days after being released and moves on to terrorize a different planet or Cell destroys the Earth a few years earlier. If Cell did destroy the Earth before Babidi arrived, I'm pretty sure Buu's cocoon would be wiped out as well or it would just be drifting off in space making it difficult for Babidi to find. I meant this as a hypothetical scenario that could explain how he might've encountered Buu and then met the Heloites later on during his training. |
