This is your honest opinion of the Golden Frieza transformation. I honestly dislike the transformation when it comes to its appearance. I like the aura he creates when in the form but the transformation itself looks really lazy. I think we would all compare Golden Frieza to Cooler's 5th form because thats the only other transformation that outclassed their true form and we can all agree that it looks both powerful and intimidating. If Frieza's 5th form from Multiverse replaced his golden form I think he would have gotten a much better reception with the fans. It would have been a call back from Cooler's Revenge and possibly made Cooler canon to the story of Dragon Ball. He can still keep the golden color too! He could go gold in the 5th form and say this is his hyper mode or golden mode. Replicating Goku's kaioken technique and gain a shit ton of power but at the cost of his stamina and his body taking crippling damage.
But I don't think this form should make Frieza on god tier! Never in my life would I make a mortal at the league with the gods because of basic training then give the excuse that their a "prodigy" so he can gain a dumpster full of power in only 3 months! Horrible writing 101. I'm no pro but I think anyone can see that as a horrible thing to write for your character. I'd have Frieza get revived and train. He'd train for about 3 years and gain the 5th form transformation and his "golden mode" as a fail safe in case Goku and co. are far stronger than him. This training would make him on par with a SSJ3 and his "golden mode" would hit the point of Mystic Gohan tier. And the movie wouldn't be based around SSGSS Goku/Vegeta VS Frieza but instead Goku and Vegeta will learn to master their god ki in their base and not use their god forms (they would only have SSG not SSB.) They'd use Frieza invading Earth as part of their training to see how far they can go with their god ki. In base with their god ki they would be on SSJ3 tier and would be on par with Frieza until he goes in his "golden mode" and start wrecking them until he burns out and gets killed.
This is just a rough draft of my thoughts of how they could made Frieza's golden form a lot better. But I'd like to hear your opinions on how you'd take care of Frieza's Golden Form.

Golden Frieza was the laziest and most ridiculous jump in power in the entire story (which is saying something considering its DB we're talking about) until Future Trunks ironically one-upped him yet again in the Zamasu arc in the anime. Not only was the actual jump in power insane since he hadn't been developed at all since getting sliced to smithereens and thus had to go through several layers of power creep, but the actual strength he gained would've made literally all his concerns moot.
His power was so great that if he had trained for a measly four months not even a SSG would've been able to handle him, and he'd be capable of handling someone stronger than that as evidenced when he was at first winning against SSB Goku until his stamina issue. It makes the entire chain of events where he feared the legends unnecessary, and the best narrative glue they could think of to try and "fix" this problem was to have Beerus order him to destroy Planet Vegeta...except they couldn't for whatever reason also just retcon away Frieza's fear. So it's like a half-retcon.
Not only that, but the greatest engineers of the universe are apparently no match for a guy in a cave with a BOX OF SCRAPS who built two androids vastly stronger than Mecha Freeza or the basic levels of SS1.
The actual transformation itself I'm not a fan of. I think the color scheme is awfully tacky and just doesn't mesh well at all. I get that he "chose" to make it golden to mock how Goku's hair turned yellow as a SS1, but damn it looks weird. That said I get why he didn't go all Cooler on everyone. Toriyama's preferences tend to go for simple as opposed to complex in terms of character design. He's also a bit lazy, so SSB being the same exact design as SS1 except colored blue and Golden Frieza having no major changes aside from being gold and being slightly taller fit into that aesthetic.

The gold and purple combination makes him look like a monkey, which is the opposite of the mental association you want to make with Frieza. The power creep was also the bullet that killed my interest in DBS. It was such a stupid thing that it made the issues people had with SSG and all the things Beerus did small fries by comparison.

Short answer- No Longer answer- No, but i actually don't mind the colours since they kinda work for me (He chooses gold for the gloriousness of the Super Saiyan transformation which i'm ok with, plus purple is the colour of Royalty so it makes sense in that respect). What i don't like how it's basically lazy- It's his final form recoloured. It's like if i painted myself Gold and yellow and suddenly actually became a Super Saiyan. It's complete bullshit. Now if it was an ACTUAL transformation instead of just a 1st year art students colour job then we'd be talking. For example-If he also gained the bulkiness of his 100% state, increased his size and had elements of Coolers 5th form THEN we'd be talking. However i agree with SSJ4 GOD Multi that the aura is pretty sick. It's just everything else which is.....Underwhelming But even assuming that Super made it a really badass transformation the fact that it only took 4 months of training to go from basic SS tier to God tier is just......Well there's no possible way to justify his fear of Saiyans if he could increase his power that much. Heck, he was probably SS3 tier just in his final form after that training montage without the Golden form. Even though Super has pulled plenty of wanky things so far i honestly don't think anything could surpass what the writers have done purely to make Frieza relevent again.

The color scheme they chose for Freeza looks bad to me. Gold and purple are royal and divine colors, but it looks really ugly on Freeza. Maybe silver or platinum color would have worked better for Freeza. I still think it should have been a god form that Freeza learned the ritual to in Hell from one of his ancestors. At least that justifies the extreme and quick power up that he could only do after he died, explaining why he never used it before.

To be honest Freeza's comeback was one of the biggest disappointing things that came in recent years. 2015 Resurrection of F would be more interesting if it was movie about Freeza's family history - from the early days of empire to the point that Freeza discovers sayians. This would be much better movie and saga for DBS than just resurrecting him in order to kill him again. Design of transformation - well it is Freeza like, but to me it is a bad taste and I prefer less gold in his Golden Freeza form. Now the biggest nonsense was his suddenly power increase from slightly weaker than SSJ Namek saga Goku to slightly stronger than SSJB Goku in just 4 months. I know he has supreme genes, but by this logic Cell is most potentional fighter and his 4 months of intense training should be at SSJB Kaioken x 10-20 times level - as Cell has even more superior genes than Freezer. It would be much more logical if the events of Resurrection of F happened during 7 year peace period between Cell and Majin Buu sagas.

You can't have too much logic up in DB, where it's like Whose Line Is It Anyway (spoiler, it's Goku) where everything's made up and the points don't matter.

I still don't think it should be a god form. If it was a god form then there would be 1000+ theory videos that every race in dragon ball has a god form. I don't even think ssg is necessary. If Goku and Vegeta obtained a god form I think it should be just as ssb is. They infuse god ki into their ssj form. Super Saiyan God, super saiyan blue and super saiyan rose should not be necessary forms. Goku and Vegeta should have god ki and a super saiyan god form imo. Frieza gaining this power from his ancestor sounds very interesting. Frieza learns more of his ancestory, gains a shit ton of power, and wouldn't need to be the villain of the movie. His ancestor could be resurrected with him and he could be the final boss. But the transformation is ridiculous as everyone has said. The design+color scheme is lackluster and lazy. The power creep is outrageous (but in dbs we see even WORSE if that's possible) and the movie plot is dumb. Everything surrounding Resurrection F is bad.

I would have found it more interesting if his newer form was an actual new form, and not him just mimicking a Super Saiyan.
I dislike the Golden tone. I dislike the lack of anything really new.
I was always a huge fan of Cooler's 5th form. I wasn't expecting it, but this was just underwhelming.

It would definitely do that, but they wanted to bring Freeza back and have gain enough power to match Goku and Vegeta's god forms. I came up with the scenario I felt justified Freeza reaching god tier like he did in the movie, which was obtaining a god form of his own or learning to access god ki. Having it be a skill he learned from his ancestor in Hell who refuses to be reincarnated yet just seemed like the only decent idea to avoid the extremely gifted prodigy route they went. I don't think Freeza should have come back at all. They did such a good job introducing Beerus that Toriyama could have just made a new villain with god ki to fight Vegeta and Goku and people would have watched.

I think demonic energy would've suited Frieza better. Fits in with the whole "trapped in Hell for 20 years" sthick he's got going on.
Plus it does some more world building if we include the Makaioshin realms into things, where Dabura's death led to chaos in the demon realms and Frieza, being the most evil being there was, just absorbed the latent demonic energy and caught up to Goku and Vegeta with minimal training by using similar yet decidedly opposite energy from the god ki path they were using.

It explains how he would have gotten so strong without any real training, AND explains the stamina issue beautifully- He couldn't completely handle all that power he absorbed from another realm that his body wasn't used to.

But nooooo, he's a mutant prodigy that can just train on his own for 4 months. *Sighs* Super just had the potential to be so much better if they bothered explaining things properly instead of just giving us a bare bones explanation that's marginally plausible then hopes we won't question it again because "Wow, new form, much cool" It's like they think we all haven't aged between the end of Z to now and can hit us with the same shticks that the buu saga had and we'll all just swallow it down because of flashy colours and light effects

Agreed. Consistency went out the window after the Cell Saga. Even the huge power ups they got then were at least in proportion and explained well.

I just realized this fits even more beautifully since what is Frieza in? A cocoon! Storing up Hell Energy until he emerges like some evil butterfly as Golden Frieza, fresh and ready to challenge Goku and Vegeta as they've acquired the power of gods.

How would you feel about Freeza training in Hell for the past decade under a evil god/demon lord who was killed by either the Kai or Beerus in the past? That way Freeza still trains for several years and learns how to use demon ki the polar opposite of god ki.

That way Freeza still trains for several years and learns how to use demon ki the polar opposite of god ki. I think some kind of evil Supreme Kai counterpart would be better than a demon lord akin to Dabura. Beerus is likely to have just HAKAI'd any kind of annoying being that would interfere with his ice cream or something--and I believe that once HAKAI'd there is no soul. That's just conjecture though. Anyway, maybe have Evil Kai be akin to Hades from Greek mythology and his job (which he would hate) is to watch over evil souls until reincarnation, which Frieza stubbornly refuses to do. Training Frieza gives him something to do out of petty spite for his heavenly counterpart. It also works to further just how opposite the two are (heaven and hell) since Shin kinda sits around and lets things take their natural course while Evil Kai takes matters into his own hands...which ALSO would allude to freaking Zamasu as another Kai who takes matters into his own hands. Of course, this would also mean that Frieza would train for 20 years and STILL have a stamina problem unless we were to rewrite RoF even more (which I wouldn't mind doing since it was terrible). Maybe have Goku & Vegeta *gasp* actually work together to defeat him! Or have him annoy Beerus to the point that Frieza gets HAKAI'd for his troubles or something due to his increased arrogance, or at the very least beaten down to the point that Goku can handle him. ...Or just keep the stamina problem and have him bet that he can finish things before he runs out of power or something. I dunno. I think either way is definitely a better alternative to what we got.
