Of all the decisions with DBM Broly, the one I'll never wrap my head around is why Salagir had him in his Movie 10 personality of largely one word yells of "KAKAROT!" rather than the Movie 8 version. This character would still suck but he'd least get more dialogue and offer better banter.

Okay I want this fight to be highlighted in that Broly seems to take actual battle damage (The bruise on his cheek) despite Salagir going with the he's invincible to damage thing later on.

I think its just filth from Vegito's shoe getting in his face, you never see a drop of blood on him I think we have seen him with blood on him by like a split lip or something. I assumed that he can be wounded in a superficial manner like a little scratch, but nothing more beyond that.

So Vegetto hard-slapped Broly here - what a forshadowing for all the Brayu memes "With Vegetto you can only obey"

Broly's arm is way too big compare to Vegetto's.

Notice again that Vegito's backhand left a bruise on Broly's cheek despite being "invincible." Saligar for sure exaggerated it later in the series from this fight.

Notice again that Vegito's backhand left a bruise on Broly's cheek despite being "invincible." Saligar for sure exaggerated it later in the series from this fight. Not to mention the invincibility is still inconsistent to this day. This one aspect that I think wasn’t needed. The rapid power growth already makes it harder to kill Broly, since his durability grows along with his ki. In universe it is not like Vegetto is going to kill Broly right away, since he wants an actual challenge. Vegetto letting Broly’s power grow until is closer to his to get a fight is in character since he has Goku and Vegeta’s worse aspects in him.

My Broly being "invincible" is just how polarizing it is, and how much it holds back writing. It exagerates the coolest part of broly, that is that he is just a berserker that tanks all damage and just keeps going, and means that every single thing thrown at him is literally completely useless.

This battle (and the one where Vegeta tricks him into the nanite planet) are the only ones I cared about him in. Even now, knowing the whole invincibility thing is supposed to be literal, takes away some of the weight of one of DBM's best battles. Also that "shock him out of the form" weakness is still confusing to this day, and just seems to be plot convenience. Still not sure why nano-based weapons work on him. My Broly being "invincible" is just how polarizing it is, and how much it holds back writing. I think people think just making someone "invincible" is awesome, but never realize how ironically limiting it is in a way. That Broly side story where he fights that buu with everybody fused in him was boring the moment you see none of their attacks are working on him. (And Buu didn't even try stuff like using magic to transmute him.)

The moment you realize that Broly isn't invincible because he is just so strong, but that he is invincible because he is literally written to be, takes the fun out of it When you have 1vAll battles like these, you love to see the big guy rampage through all of them. You love to see him walking through a kamehameha with minimum damage. You love to see when characters get creative, or power up, to actually get good hits on them. Making him literally invincible turns into a game of pushing him into the Sun ASAP, because over time more and more immunities were written into him.

But Broly is just the COOLEST though!? He is invincible because god darn it he is just so COOL guys isn't he just the coolest ever!?
I never liked Z-Broly, I liked Movie 10 Broly even less, but DMB is somehow the hollow shell of even that whose powers only create problems and even seem to contradict his only worth while fight where he clearly takes damage despite his powers logically meaning he shouldn't. Just makes a mess that can only appeal to Z-Broly fans.

I still really like the Vegetto and Broly fight. It is just so iconic for DBM and is a good example of how fan service can be used in a positive way. DBZ Broly is still hugely popular, so taking a page out of video games by having Broly fight a Goku and Vegeta fusion, I think was a good call. Broly's constantly growing ki was implemented well to justify it was fine. Hell, even Toriyama followed suit with that by having his version of Broly power rapidly grow, which he used to justify Goku and Vegeta needing to fuse to defeat him. It is just one of those instances that if we stopped at the rapid growing of power that nothing else would really change for how Broly was used in DBM. Invincibility is just one step too far. I think it is telling that a lot of fictional characters that are held as invulnerable/invincible aren't played completely straight, in order to have it easier to write around fights involving those characters.
I think that is also the case with Vegetto in terms of his power. I hope with the colors that the Vegetto has never been pushed to SS2 is changed. I don't mind that Vegetto's power is still peak of power for DBM, especially since we never even saw Vegetto's full power in the Buu arc (he only needed SS1), but I think downplaying SS2 Bra never even forced Vegetto to go SS2 just makes too big of a power gap, and it doesn't jell well with later events. I think if U16 Gohan and U16 Piccolo dialogue was changed to only Bra was able to force Vegetto to go SS2.
