Lol, jacket and sweatpants look a lot better on 18 than they did on Gohan I think it's because 18 hasn't been horrifically deformed by it like Gohan was. Guy lost like all of his muscle mass. It just looked bad and made me feel bad for Gohan fans.

Thanks Axalon. That was the picture/poster I saw. I forgot about Roshi. Kind of weird they added Roshi instead of Yamecha or the boys. Yeah, Goten and Trunks not being there is weird. They might've decided that Gotenks wasn't worth the effort? I dunno, but Roshi replacing Yamcha I could see happening. He wasn't considered important/strong enough to be invited to go fight Frieza's army of minions, but even Roshi showed up and opened up a can of ass-whoopin', so it was already kind of foreshadowed. As for my own thoughts on the roster: 1. Goku/Vegeta/Piccolo were the obvious ones. 2. Given the new stakes imposed by Zen-Oh, Gohan has no excuse at last. At least he's been kinda training to prepare. 3. As @thatguy said, Buu could very well be one of the most dangerous opponents in the tournament. Assuming his opponents aren't, say, Vegito-level, his candy beam will be a devastating weapon. Absorbing people could also make him all the more dangerous as well. 4. 17/18 was unexpected, but will give us a good gauge for Android Saga enemies. Piccolo as well truth be told. 5. Tien/Krillin/Roshi is just getting some of the old gang back together. No complaints aside from wondering how useful they'll be. Truth be told I was kinda hoping Beerus would start pulling crazy stunts (given the stakes) like bringing Frieza back and forcibly drafting him onto the team. Can you imagine if he started pulling talent from Other World? His team could be so hype. It is just such a shame they gave Yamecha a baseball episode instead of having him take Roshi's spot. It just feels like it is weird to bring Roshi back when he is past his prime and not try to redeem Yamecha. I personally felt like he should have shown up when Freeza invaded instead of Roshi too though. Gohan's story is kind of weird. On one hand I thought they were going to have him retire and embrace normal life with his family, which is a valid story arc. Not everyone has to be a fighter. Now they have him get back in shape to protect his family, but left him out of U6 tournament arc and Black Goku arc. It just feels inconsistent so far on where they want him to go. Personally I felt like they could have gone in the middle by having Gohan continue to train to keep himself in shape, but not go overboard like Goku and Vegeta so he could still be there for his family. Moderate training would still keep him useful and being able to participate in arcs whenever they want to, but not have him steal focus from Vegeta or Goku. Maybe this arc will do that now. I just realized this, but with 18 and Krillin competing we're going to have first real Battle Couple Team up in DB (second depending on rather people count Gohan/Videl as Saiyaman team or not). That has me excited. I love Chi-chi, Bulma, and Videl and not everyone has to be a fighter, but it is cool for Krillin to have a wife who is stronger than him and will go out there with him to back him up. I'm really crossing my fingers this is a return to classics with the old Z team. Gero must be rolling in his grave with 18 and 17 helping Goku fight lol. I don't want to get my hopes, but damn that pic looks so awesome.

Fuck, I might be late in terms of posting and slightly off topic but back to the multiverse tourney and the universe that loses is eliminated... WHAT!?
Okay, was that Future Zeno's idea? Murder off the universe that loses? Present Zeno might've been chill with keeping the current 12 but this raises the stakes beyond anything else in the series... wow.
Tension: A+ Sympathy for the losing universes: A+9000

But what's the point in keeping such high stakes? It's a given they don't want this to be the ultimate finale arc, so why keep universal death? Wouldn't be surprised to see a twist and Zeno just ditching the thought of destruction. Perhaps, they should have given them rewards/punishment for win/lose.
I don't quite remember, but Yu Yu Hakusho's tournament had good amount of tension and some characters even died for the sake of ensuring their team's victory. The character's kept on training after each round. The story wasn't inconsistent with its characters and new info was revealed about others now n then. (Hey, i still don't quite remember if i am right, but i loved it.) Eg. Genkai (old/young lady, spirit master) passes down her power to Yuuske as she knew she would die soon. Then they got another character to join in to help.

Do we know for sure that it's a straight-up eliminate every universe but 1 thing? Cuz the numbers don't quite add up for a single elimination, standard bracket tourney (you'd need 128). Unless there's going to be an extra 8 entrants. Or byes. Or a set of battle royales to narrow it down some I guess.
We definitely need more info on how this is supposed to work.

It may be a weird bracket system. Yu Yu Hakhusho for example had a odd number of participants for the Dark Tournament, so some teams had more rounds/matches to fight than others. Since there is 12 universe instead of 16 it could be something as simple as U7 ends up on the bracket that has the most matches, while U6 ends up on the other end that has least amount of rounds. The arc starts off with more tension that the heroes are at an even greater disadvantage and have to fight in more rounds that gives them more matches to fight. It lines up with how the U6 Tournament arc started with Buu not being able to compete in five on five match to put our heroes at a disadvantage.
As for it being a straight up elimination means a universe is destroyed we have to wait to see. I have my doubts Toriyama would go that route or that it simply won't be undone by Zeno either re-creating them or that they use the Super Dragon Balls to restore the damage, unless Zeno is being setup as the big bad and the next arc is them fighting to depose Zenos and setup a more benevolent deity as top god. Goku wanted to stop Champa from killing his team. I really doubt he would be fine if Zeno goes through with murdering whole universes for no other reason. That same attitude is what made him hate Freeza. "How many people begged at your feet, but you killed them anyway!"

If Zeno is going to be a major villain, how would you stop him? He can wipe out a universe on a whim, so raw power is out. You'd have to deal with him indirectly. Maybe Zuno knows how? Alternatively, maybe Goku can convince Zeno to not do it? Zeno could very well be doing all this because he doesn't know right from wrong, or doesn't consider the lives of the mortals below him.

What if Zeno's are just planning to fussing all the losing teams universes onto the winning teams uinverse. (There are enough planets now) Could be a way to eliminate all the extra stuff.

Thoughts on this new saga: -Finally the big tournament! After that last saga, this feels like one of the only ways to step it up a notch. It makes me wonder if this is going to be the final saga of DBS. -I wonder if they'd really go through with wiping out all 11 universes !? -I also wonder if the others are going to train before the tournament? -I was sad that Goten and Trunks aren't competing but they were slacking off and no longer train during the original ending so I guess Toriyama wanted to keep that same outcome for them. -Is every universe going to have 10 contestants? I don't know how they would set up a tournament with 120 contestants. I doubt they would show all the fights and it wouldn't divide evenly unless there are a few group battles or battle royals. -Part of me wishes that the other 11 universes are destroyed along with all the gods, the two Zenos kill each other, and somehow Goku and Vegeta lose their god ki. That way we can return to the original manga ending with Goku looking forward to facing Uub . -...but that at the same time, it would be a really sad ending. Maybe just the two Zenos kill each other.

I think the tournament itself will gloss over some of the lesser matches. Depending on how strong the fighters in each universe are, some universes could be swept by a handful of fighters, while others are doing the sweeping. DBM does this too, with U10 and such. If they pay too much attention to one fight, we're going to be in for one long saga. I would hope the others train for the tournament. Gohan, at least, has been doing so. If he's back to Mystic strength, he won't exactly be a pushover.

AzothTrue, it might be like the preliminary matches in Dragonball. They might skim through the earlier matches or matches for the other universe contestants. I think most contestants are probably weaker than SSJ3 tier with only the top one or two of each universe at SSJB tier. Goku Black was pretty much unstoppable in the future timeline after killing the gods so either the other universe mortals were too weak to stand up to him or maybe they just didn't care (like Hit, for example).

Was Hit ever referenced to be still alive in Trunks' timeline? No mention of him was ever made. If Goku Black and Zamasu were actively wiping planets everywhere, they must have come across him in some way.
I wonder how much % of the universe they "conquered" or "cleansed of ningen"? Was it only on universe 7? Did they slowly genocide all like on earth (this was a bit random to be honest).
I seriously don't think Black would have been able to stand up to Hit. Slightly unrelated but since he also saw hit in Godtube (in both Anime and Manga), it's odd the got so fixated on Goku but not on another ningen that was close to completely beat his ass on several instances and even has OP abilities gods don't even have. Did Black (as Zamasu) completely forgot about him? He sure knew of his existence. Would he have targeted him or was he actually smarter than that? Why didn't he want Hit's body in the first place?

I don't think they mentioned Hit in the future timeline. They may have just overlooked him since he's probably strong enough to deal with Black. If Black and Zamasu were both working together, Zamasu's immortality would come in handy against Hit. He could use his deadliest assassination techniques assuming it would kill Zamasu and then Zamasu kills him when he's close enough.
I think he killed all the gods and decided to go to Earth because it would be crazy if he already cleared out all the other planets in the universes. It would take a long time to wipe out all the mortals if they're only going from planet to planet. Black has only been around for a few years or (one year?) before Trunks returns to the past.

I know the following idea is a rip off of GT but AT could've had Goku and company travel to the other universe's planet Vegeta (or salad, I forgot what it was called) and/or Earth. But ending with the tournament as the only way the 7th universe could interact with other universes kinda sucks. 2. Would Zeno wipe them to make his job easier to watch over or would he merge them to the winner's universe and just say "Fuck off, go live with each other and deal with it?" 5. Tag teams... okay that's a big what if and I actually hope it goes this way. 6. T.R.K.'s what if of the day: If two GoDs fight each other and risk destroying the universe (or two :/) What if the two Kings of everything except Lord Popo fight each other, accidentally destroy the multiverse, it's a void, only Goku is alive somehow and he pleads Present Zeno to recreate the multiverse as it was just before Goku met Beerus, (catch is that Goku returns to his power before meeting Beerus but retains memories of his Dragon Ball Super adventures) and the manga ending occurs just as normal. Giant asspull to erase the entire Super Series but still manages to flow into the Manga's original ending.

I would've preferred if they cut down on the useless filler during the Zamasu saga and had more slice of life episodes afterwards rather stretching out the saga itself so much. 2. I really want to believe Zeno is smarter than he acts but the Zamasu saga ruined that for me. During that saga, he had no idea that all the gods were killed until Goku happened to press the Zeno button. Even then he didn't seem like he knew what was actually going on when he decided to wipe out the universe. That's why I really want the two Zenos to kill each other. I just hate the idea of him being the supreme ruler of the universe while being the most dangerous and unstable at the same time. 6. You had me at "erase the entire Super series" ! While there are some parts of DBS that I like, there isn't enough for me to want it to be canon to be honest. I wouldn't have a problem with it being erased at the end. That way it could be treated like one of the movies.

(No retcon nor filler doesn't cut it:P) I hope when we get to the manga ending of F.Trunks saga, we see something different during Zeno's appearance, such as him saying "Oh no, it's a corrupt Kaioshin ruining my universe!
