Here is a few things I hope is prevented or addressed in the upcoming movie:
1. Kakarot! - Seriously, if this new Broly becomes the idiot in the Second Coming movie, I think we all will lose interest very quickly. Broly needs to be similar to his first LSSJ movie appearance in terms of being haughty, talkative, destructive, and overall chaotic with a sick sense of humor. However a feeling of greater purpose should be instated to differentiate him even more from the Broly we know. As in he needs a solid reason for why he is doing the things he is performing in the movie. No mind control, memory loss, or simply lost in a destructive haze shouldn't be used as plot devices. It will weaken is character tremendously in terms of natural development. He needs to be his own person who over time became the man he is today in the film.
2. Paragus (and mom) - Will his parents be mentioned? if not, at least Paragus needs to be referenced to make the original trilogy have some merit because if not, then Paragus can be argued he is not Broly's true father. I do not like this.
3. Legendary Status - Is Broly the true (first?) saiayn to become a super saiyan, and later on changed his name to "Broly" since long ago he was Yamoshi? Or is he the Evil Saiyan that killed Yamoshi. Or is he a saiyan that survived Planet Vgeta's destruction just like the original movies? And if any one of these become true, does Broly simply have SSJ, LSSJ, SSJG, or another form altogether? His forms are very important for the health of this film. And whether he hails from U6 or U7 needs to be addressed.
4. Other Saiyans - Honestly all of the other saiyans in U6 (especially Kale and Caulifla) need to see Broly and challenge the true saiyan of legend. And if Hit can join in, it would make the film even more entertaining.
5. Vegeta - No matter what, Vegeta should not become a scared little child upon seeing Broly. It damaged his character with his fear. He should be a man and fight with every single iota of power within his being. It will redeem him from the first movie.
6. Planet Sadala (U7) - It should be mentioned and reveal to us what exactly happened that lead to all saiyans migrating to Planet Vegeta.
7. Yamoshi - Just because out of the fact he could be Broly all along. You never know? But his true past needs to be revealed to the audience.
8. Non-Saiyans - The likes of Piccolo, human fighters, and maybe even Hit (?) need to make some decent contributions to the final battle.
9. Gohan - Now this is the perfect time for him to redeem himself. Any great moments against Broly is necessary for his overall future as a warrior.
10. Finisher - The Spirit Bomb or fusion should not be used despite my desire to see either Gogeta or Vegito. I am still on the offense that Ultra Instinct might be the key difference, but Goku needs to suffer from some serious withdrawals again if used. But I hope that a logical, yet intriguing way is used to defeat Broly if he needs to be killed. Suicide is the worst way IMO. Broly taking his own life will make the entire conclusion feel cheap.
11. Beerus - He should not be in the fighting scene since it is highly likely he will be stronger than Broly. It will be like Golden Frieza all over again in diminishing the tension.
12. Dragon Ball Minus - If possible, both Bardock and Gine should be mentioned to bring the entire story together. And as a Goku fan, I would love this and get confirmation on what truly happened to them upon sending Baby Kakarot off to Earth.
13. Frieza - He needs to be inside of the movie and go toe-to-toe with Broly. And if Broly can do to Frieza what Toppo did to him, it would be worth it.

It's not a poster but some type of sticker set. I'm not really liking the color scheme for Broly's clothes here and I remember him wearing something else in the teaser trailer. Maybe he'll change after he's freed from the ice since he would've had the same pair of underwear on for who know how many years. I'm surprised Piccolo is here since I don't know what kind of role he'll play. I suppose he'll either babysit or offer some commentary. I want to his reaction when he finds out the legendariest Saiyan has green hair. Piccolo: Go Broly! Vegeta: What?! He's the enemy! Piccolo: I know but he does have green hair. Vegeta: That's the only reason...? Piccolo: It's all I have! I used to be one of the strongest but now I'm just a babysitter. Look at #17! Him and I were equal at one point! All my years of rigorous training weren't shit and he was like a million times stronger just by beating up some humans! All I have left is this rooting for this green haired Saiyan and pretend he's part Namek! Wahahaha! Goku: Hey...uh...don't cry. You're still an important member of the team. I mean you can't contribute anything in the power department but you are holding the Senzu beans! Piccolo: That used to be Krillin's job! Wahaha! I've been reduced to the ÷!@#$ Krillin of the team! Goku: Don't say that! You're holding them a lot better than Krillin ever did, right Vegeta? Vegeta: Um...yeah you're holding the shit out of those beans! Piccolo: *sniff* Thanks guys. I guess I am doing a pretty good job.

Too small legs. Broly will look like Toppo. Also, are both using SSJ Bluer?

Too small legs. Broly will look like Toppo. Also, are both using SSJ Bluer? Goku's the master of stealing techniques, wouldn't be surprised Goku resorted to stealing transformations just to keep looking cool.
Might explain Broly's hatred for Goku, Goku stole Broly's hatred that was directed towards Vegeta.
Ah but you see, if Broly will look like Toppo, and Toppo had one destructive transformation hidden, then Broly's NEW Legendary Transformation will amp him enough to look like he never skipped leg day ever again!

Too small legs. Broly will look like Toppo. Also, are both using SSJ Bluer? It's likely just regular SSJB but looks a little different due to the change in art style. I don't think SSJBer and Kaioken will appear in this movie since they were only in the anime. I guess it depends on how detailed Toriyama's outline or script is because Toei could decide to include them in the fight scenes anyway.

Speaking of Toppo... I hope the movie doesn't open or have Broly taking out him and/or Jiren out, especially Jiren. It'd feel like a complete waste after the Tournament of Power spent months establishing Jiren as this unstoppable force of nature that literally had the fan-base questioning if Universe 7 would make it out alive even though we knew they would. Putting it even more into perspective: it took the MASTERED FORM of an angelic technique that Goku & Co. weren't in any way, shape, or form aware of to simply defeat Jiren. Say what you will of the character, but that's quite the benchmark that I think should still carry some weight for a bit longer. Even taking UI out of the equation, we still have Jiren as the undisputed best warrior in the multiverse (excluding whatever's in the exempt universes).
Broly I suppose is a bit of an exception because he's a "legendary" freak of nature or whatever. However, every new antagonist being Jiren level and beyond from here on out, without some gimmick going for them or it being some rouge GoD or Angel would just get stale. Jiren worked a bit (for me at least) because his raw overwhelming power contrasted greatly with his emphasis on strength and its relation to his personal trauma, which was a good foil to Goku and UI in the context of the tournament. I'm not sure if that can be done again and again - at least not for awhile, so that Goku finally summoning it would have a greater impact.

Depending on how crazy Broly's feats are in the movie, maybe there won't be anymore antagonists stronger than Jiren. If I remember correctly Mastered UI Goku vs Jiren was causing the entire infinite World of Void to shake. I'm not sure how that works but that place must've been big and the size of several regular universes. If Broly is even stronger than Jiren, the battle between him and Goku could possibly threaten the whole multiverse. If they're not that strong, it's inevitable Goku will fight someone who could do that as the story goes on.
I find it unlikely that there are a bunch of +God of Destruction tier warriors out there who all happened to decline that position like Jiren but also decline joining the ToP then start emerging one after another to attack Goku. In this regard, I think Jiren will remain "unique" being the only antagonist who trained really hard like Goku and declined to become a God of Destruction. Broly was apparently sealed in ice for many years so I guess that explains why he wasn't invited to the tournament. I think they're already exhausted this sealed/dormant enemy idea with King Piccolo, Buu, Beerus who was sleeping throughout all of Dragonball, and not including all the times they've done it in the earlier movies and video games.

Shocked nobody mentioned it, FUNi dub officially announced for January 2019.
Would you mind providing a source? I heard about a North American release, but where I read about it, they didn't specify whether or not it was sub or dub. A sub isn't out of the question since Funimation did release a sub in theaters for Resurrection F prior to the release of the dub in theaters about 5 months afterwards.

Well shit. I just looked again and it doesn't actually say dubbed anywhere, just that FUNi had the rights to it. I jumped the gun and assumed they meant dub when I saw they made an English poster. It looks like it's not confirmed either way, so a dub is still possible, just not specified.

Seeing how soon it is after the Japanese theatrical release, I'd say it's probably gonna be a subbed version.

But I do agree that broly himself might be between shirts-on-jiren and Shirtless-jiren in terms of power, since we are probably getting a triple tag team of Goku Vegeta and Frieza to take him on. But on a lesser note they announced re-releases of: M8(Broly time N°1,pretty obvious), The Bardock Special(relating to saiyans origins and since freeza is in it,we might get more retconed flashbacks of planet vegeta), And M12:fusion reborn(maybe gogeta soon Tm to take on big boy broly?).

Just for the record, I hope Jiren gets mastered ultra instinct only to get one shotted by Broly. Just to keep with the tradition of making the previous antagonist entirely irrelevant.

For the longest time, I thought Jiren had Ultra Instinct. After Goku ‘mastered’ it, I was expecting Jiren to reveal he’s had it hidden the whole time and was glad to finally meet someone that also attained the form. But, then all he did was increase his muscle mass like Frieza did and lost anyway.

In typical shonen fashion, the next antagonist is usually stronger than the last. The only time this didn't apply in Dragonball was with Beerus but it could be said that the suppressed power he displayed in BoG was less than the full power of the next antagonist. If Broly is weaker than Jiren, it would be similar to RoF with Beerus being capable of defeating the enemy but just standing in the background. I would find that pretty boring and I doubt Toriyama would want to repeat that. I think it's safe to assume Broly is intended to be stronger than Jiren unless the movie proves otherwise. Also, @thatguy brought up the re-releases of those movies on the first page. Be sure to read the first page of the thread before commenting at least!

And depeing on how you see it,Merged"I fused with myself so I could hate myself"Zamasu was stronger than jiren himself, but that depends on how you see the world of void and the MUI state The 2 ways ours heroes are probably fighting broly are as follows: Goku+Vegeta+G.Freeza Or Gogeta Both of those would be stronger than beerus by himself, even more so if they are going SSBlue2.Oh Im sorry,I just got back and my skin still a bit cold and getting back to the swing of thing.

Overridden With Joy YuyaAs crazy as it is, I think Jiren was meant to be stronger than SSJB Vegetto. I recall it was mentioned that Vegetto might be as powerful as Beerus while Jiren was confirmed to be stronger than a God of Destruction. It wasn't confirmed if he was stronger than all of them but I think they would've specified if it was only a few Gods of Destruction. I think the combined power of Goku, Vegeta, and Freeza or even SSJB Gogeta would still be weaker than Beerus and Jiren. If it wasn't for MUI, Jiren may have been able to take down all of U7. Gogeta also wouldn't last very long due to how powerful he would be. SSJ3 Gotenks could only last 5 minutes so Gogeta would remain fused for even less time.

I'm still not finished reading everyone's opinion on the matter of Broly's return. (Btw what's up my boiis!) But I'll put in my two cents. At first I was against it but after hearing Toriyama is going to re-imagine him I will give the old tired bastard a chance. I know in recent dragon ball they have had a pretty shitty track record with almost all characters. Buuuut it seems that Broly is going to have a different spin to himself(hopefully.) But at the same time I feel like he's not going to be very different either. I don't want to hate the movie, I really want to love SOMETHING that modern dragon ball has put out but I just can't trust them anymore. On one side I think he will be mostly silent, talks only when needed, and will still be a berserker, hell I bet he'll scream his signature "KAKAROT!" at least once. He will obviously be overpowered to show how badass he is and to be a serious threat in the movie. They will use that he was a "ancient" saiyan to bypass the criticism of why he is overpowered and so fans won't complain how he's able to keep up with the god characters (not that doing that is much a feat anymore.) We don't know if they will use kaioken or SSB Evolution but meh I don't think many would care if they did or not but there will be questions on why they didn't use them. The only way they can redeem Broly or make him better in my eyes is that he has to actually fucking talk. Not a few words or throw petty insults. He has to have full conversations, haha I feel like I'm talking about the special kid in class. He has to have a understandable backstory and why he's here but its dragon ball so they will give him a generic backstory that he somehow got frozen in ice or something and no one could sense him because he was in that chronic state of dead but not dead mode. Freeza might actually find him, heal him and use him against Goku until he betrays Freeza, who knows. And just make him feel interesting, the original Broly movie made Broly feel somewhat of a big deal, they hyped him up til he actually showed up and he delivered pretty good beating the shit out of all the characters. The movie was not perfect but I do still consider it one of the better movies. So at the end of the day I just want this to be a very informative movie, with good actions scenes (no CGI/3D/ OR 4D fights please!), and a plot that makes sense. Am I too hopeful? Maybe but we shall see in January.
P.S: If Gogeta do appear, he will only get his 1 minute of fame as he did in his film. He'll appear at the very end, beat Broly, and defuse. Or he might pull a Vegito and defuse at the last minute and Goku at the very end re-unlocks his Ultra Instinct unconsciously and defeats Broly! God please fucking no...

Nothing else, he could even voice a different character... I hope we get to see a better scan of that sticker set! If I remember right, first time we saw SSJBlue was on a toy...

Im not fully sure how I feel about this movie. It might be nice to see Tori's take on all this, but much like everyone else, I think I was.. dumbstruck by the announcement. freeza was a dumb fuck in super, he didn't test his golden form and lost for the same reason he lost in dbz. Lost ki and stamina, and then had to use a laser beam from his co-worker to down goku from behind. He got smarter later by controlling his golden form in hell...some how. I just wish his golden form were a god form of his own, it diminishes the awesomeness of god forms and god ki for a mere mortal to surpass a god ki user who isn't a kaioshin or god of creation. speaking of which, do kaioshin have a different ki than say beerus or god goku? They could sense kaioshin, but not beerus or wiss or even ssjb goku unless they themselves were gods. In any case, here's hoping the new brolly is good! Frieza learned to control his golden form with visualization Training. Basically, Imagine succeeding at something hard enough, and it helps train your muscle memory to -actually- succeed. Surprisingly, a real martial arts technique. (and one that atleast one study has apparently found semi-effective, not that I have links, only word of mouth, so take that with a grain of salt.) I dont actually put -any- stock in god ki being special, and never really have. As I said in a different thread, I think God ki is basically just toriyama explaining a trait he always had gods have, Probably even Kami/Dende.(I mean, it would make sense. They are literal gods, even if their actual power is far below Goku and gang.) As far as I know, God ki doesnt really prevent you from being sensed, so much as prevent your ki's depth/amount from being sensed.. exactly like what happened in the buu saga, when Piccolo tried to sense the Kaioshin. Plus, If we look further back, Im pretty sure no one has properly sensed out any of the gods. (Goku using IT to King kai might be the exception.. but King kai is also one of the characters explicitly able to sense the movements of Beerus, implying he does have god ki, and in theory Goku could have been sensing the ki of one of the other inhabitants of the planet.)
